Well we didn't exchange again! 🙄 now we are waiting for bottom of the chain to confirm their funds can be released for completion on the 28th of October....ive no idea how long this normally takes but apparently its fairly normal? We better exchange this week or I'll go mad!
Frustrating. Hopefully it’s just a simple phone call to confirm? Fingers crossed you exchange soon

Hi all, haven't been on this thread for a while as house stuff was stressing me out and we had no updates anyway. Pleased to see good news from some of you though!

The latest issue for us is that our buyer's mortgage offer has just expired - soooo frustrating as I raised this risk months ago, then through September I repeatedly asked our EA to check she had applied for an extension (with no clear answer). And now we hear she's ghosting our EA, who has left her several voicemails in the last 2 weeks and not had a call back. GREAT. All the while the clock is ticking on our own mortgage offer (2.8% for 5 years!! If we run out of time it is going to cost us a fortune).
Oh no.  Maybe your buyer can’t get an extension. Doesn’t sound good that she’s ghosting the EA.  How long do you have left on your mortgage offer?

Not much to report here.  It sounds like our buyers have had all their searches returned, enquiries have been raised which we have answered.  I’m in direct contact with our buyer so we are updating each other.  They are just waiting on confirmation on their mortgage deed which they’ve sent back to their solicitors so I think they are pretty much ready.

for our purchase we have had all but the local search back which isn’t due back until around 21st.  Once received our solicitor will raise enquiries so I’m really hoping that our vendors solicitors don’t delay the replies. Also hoping that vendor is moving in with family as advised as we are hoping a move before Christmas will be achieved
  • Absolutely gutted

Our house we are buying with "no onward chain" turns out to be in a chain
We ftb are ready to exchange, vendor 1 month in on their purchase, our mortgage offer runs out end of november, we offered really good price there is no way they would get anything like that now, we remember after our offer was accepted they (elderly couple) said that they would be willing to break the chain, so will ask tommorow ea about that, but highly doubt it, still it would be a suicide for them to lose us. What do you think we should do? Couldn't even fall alseep so heartbroken as we are 100% guaranteed our mortgage will not be extended

Apparently the solicitors were on hold to the bank yesterday for 40 mins trying to get authorisation 🙄 you would think it would be easier 😂 our estate agent said its normal but doesn't help the frustration after weeks of waiting!

Definitely ask them to break the chain, considering they probably won't get as good a price without you I'd be surprised if they didn't seriously consider it
  • Just feel so sad they did tell us they might look at the market, but will still sell to us regardless even if they need to break the chain and we fell for it. They were really nice people

Offers accepted late May 2022...everything done and dusted by 23rd August and the chain was ready...then a massive 4 week wait for our buyers lender to be satisfied...exchange today. Ugh so glad that is over! Fingers crossed for a straightforward completion!
