what I’ve learned throughout this process is that there are some really crap solicitors out there ruining peoples lives!I have a feeling that they can be released on day on completion so hopefully you’ll still be ok - are you in a chain? Surely completion date everyone will be ready to move now? They have been obstructive the entire process, I really hope the rules change around being able to make complaints about other people’s solicitors because they’ve dragged out a process that should have been Uber fast. Mortgage funds were released today by the bank, so I truly hope it won’t spill over into Monday, as this is literally the last £1000 or so they need to confirm!4 -
Should hopefully be exchanging this week, as we have agreed a completion date of next week. So nervous now as it’s so close! Just hoping I hear soon that the buyers solicitor has their signed paperwork (already has their deposit) and then we are good to go.. really cannot relax until exchange!1

Currently the rest of our chain are still waiting for a completion date of the 26th to be agreed by the top of chain. Was requested last Thursday and we haven't had a response yet. If this date falls through, it will be the second time due to no response.0

Gosh that’s terrible about the no response! Communication is just appalling isn’t it in this whole process!Well we are completing soon - however when we spoke to the vendors mum who has the keys (they are with an online estate agents) they didn’t realise we completed this week and when we said it they said they can bring the keys about 5ish on the day - we thought they were joking and said it will (hopefully) be around 1/1.30 so not 5 so they have to be ready then. They laughed and said they won’t be and they’ll be as quick as they can but the earliest will be 4.30!! Queue more days of ringing around trying to sort the keys somewhere as once we’ve completed the home is ours and we have removals that need to get in (as well as us 😂)1

Completion set a week today! Waiting for my solicitors confirmation then it’s time to get everything booked and planned!! 😄2

Tentatively joining this thread as hopefully I should be talking exchange/completion dates soon.
timeline:
13th June - offer excepted
25th June - mortgage valuation back with a down valuation
13th July - new price agreed and mos issued
3rd August - home buyer survey completed
searches/enquires are underway and I’m trying to be patient but the lack of communication from solicitors is driving me mad. It has made me feel a bit better seeing that others have similar experience and it isn’t just that I chose a terrible solicitor.0 -
So I think we’re pretty much ready to exchange and complete. The sellers have vacated the house and have moved to the midlands, we’re just sat waiting in our rented property for dates… yesterday morning they said they were waiting for the vendors solicitors to get back to them with their enquiries on the garage… checked with the seller, they sent this info last week to their solicitors so not entirely sure what the wait is.I am hoping we can complete on Friday ready for the bank holiday weekend but on asking our solicitors if this is likely I’m getting radio silence… why is all so frustrating?!Life is too short not to love what you do.1

We put offer in on the 23/5
mortgage came through on the 28/6
Survey was done on the 7/7
enquiries raised on the 28/7 (searches came back just before that)
and we’re now just waiting….we’ve chased with the estate agent/ our solicitors and apparently the seller has returned his answers to the enquiries but it’s with his solicitor and will be looked at in due course.I don’t like the radio silence and how it seems to go in four weekly intervals. We’re not in a chain as we’re FTB and the property is empty so it’s annoying that we’re three months in and no mention of any dates that they’re working towards
we’ve sent the mortgage deed back, searches all done so when the enquiries come back it’s like ok what next, as we ideally want it to be by 16th sept but we have no idea if that’s realistic or not, and solicitor doesn’t seem to answer those questionsJust Keep Swimming
