@hpsauce86 have you got a confirmed date then?Ours is going horribly pear shaped. We have either the EA, our solicitor or the vendors solicitor lying. Our solicitor responds to some people (but not us). Our vendors EA responds telling us they have spoken to the vendors solicitor, everything is grand and all agreed. The vendors solicitors... no-one has heard from them. Our solicitor says they never respond. So we're supposed to be moving 2 weeks tomorrow, but we're no nearer. And to make matters worse, our buyer's solicitor has already put a charge on our house on behalf of the mortgage company. Even though we haven't exchanged.
What happens if we pull out?0 -

That does sound really odd! It sounds like the vendors solicitor is either confused, or your solicitor is confused. Can you phone them up and speak to them? Or ask for a senior partner at the solicitors to look in to it?Hope you get it sorted, it’s absolutely maddening all the he said she said stuff.I’ve ended up getting directors of our vendors estate agent to step in, some silly person in the office gave me his mobile number so he gets many phone calls from me every week and will continue to until he gets it sorted. The developers who the vendor is buying from has an absolutely terrible solicitor, so the director of the estate agent has escalated it with a senior partner at the developers solicitor, because it’s beyond a joke and they don’t seem to know what they are doing. Everyone must be totally sick of me now, I’m sure they want it resolved so they don’t have to hear from me.0 -
Sorry to hear some of the issues everyone is having! It is a complete terrible process with so many things that can go wrong - communication can just literally ruin everything! However we have exchanged today!!! (After 7 weeks delay down to the first in chain) a lot of frustration, supposed to have exchanged last Friday and everyday since! So relieved!! Completion next Wednesday! X4

Supposed to be completing tomorrow but vendors solicitors have yet to confirm the final amount (we have already transferred some of the deposit on exchange). God give me strength 😑😑😑. Does anyone know whether it will still go through tomorrow if we don’t transfer the remainder of the funds until tomorrow? I would have assumed the monies would need to be with our solicitor the day before, but then again, I also assumed solicitors actually did their job to some sort of standard, so…1

Oh gosh slinky- that’s crazy so close to your completion ?!?
what I’ve learned throughout this process is that there are some really crap solicitors out there ruining peoples lives!I have a feeling that they can be released on day on completion so hopefully you’ll still be ok - are you in a chain? Surely completion date everyone will be ready to move now?0 -

Surely completion date everyone will be ready to move now? They have been obstructive the entire process, I really hope the rules change around being able to make complaints about other people’s solicitors because they’ve dragged out a process that should have been Uber fast. Mortgage funds were released today by the bank, so I truly hope it won’t spill over into Monday, as this is literally the last £1000 or so they need to confirm!0 -
Buyers have signed contracts, all good to go. Our vendors solicitor sent back responses to our enquiries...but forgot to attach the responses to the email 🤯 seriously?! So our solicitor is now chasing them again...hopefully we can do our contract paperwork next week IF nothing major comes up with enquiries. Hoping for completion 9th September but it's anyone's guess!0

Confirmation the seller signed their documents and posted them back to their solicitor yesterday, fingers crossed we can finally start talking dates Monday 🤞🏻0

We’ve been told our vendor wants to exchange on Wednesday. I mean, I’ve heard all that before 2 weeks ago and this enquiry of theirs still isn’t resolved, but apparently she’s going to tell her solicitor on Monday to get it done on Wednesday and that it must be resolved by then. Going to keep my fingers crossed until then I guess. Getting really peed off as we’ve missed lots of furniture we wanted in sales now. 🤣 we could have saved thousands!0

I think ( hope) I am at the last hurdle. I am selling a vacant probate house and after our first buyer dropped out after 5 weeks i thought it would be a long process. As the sale is very straight forward to a cash buyer i haven't had any contact with my solicitor since she sent the draft contract 2 weeks ago. Then yesterday the change of deeds and contract arrived in the post. I had to get my signature witnessed then i posted it back by special delivery. Royal mail confirmed it arrived today. I presume my buyer just needs to sign his part now then what happens next? The house is fully empty and the EA has both sets of keys. I am hoping I won't have to travel 300 miles to do anything else??0
