Hello everyone. Anyone else getting tired of patiently waiting?! It's driving me mad! I'm waiting on the mortgage valuation/offer, and 3 enquiries. Everything else is done and fine. My sellers are not buying anything else so in theory it should be reasonably quick. Ergh. Hopefully here something this week...
Hope everyone else is hanging in there!

Yep! I’ve been not so patiently waiting and sending an email a week to check up on things, the last I heard was the sellers solicitors was checking their file and then sending the enquiries back, so now I’m waiting to hear if they’re satisfied so I can start pushing for dates! I’m also no chain as well as my seller so I know the feeling of being told quick sale

Currently waiting for my buyer to confirm the dates for completion and arrange a date for exchange.. unable to book movers until I have this date. But with potential completion in 3 weeks (!!) I am starting to worry it will be a mad rush to the finish line!

Day 2 of attempting exchange.  No word yet so presume it is not going to happen again.  Farcical process this.  I couldn't design a worse way of doing one of the biggest things in life if I tried.
  • We can finally join this thread now.  Searches are all done, so just waiting on the vendors solicitors to answer the enquiries.  They insist only on postal contact so please pray for us  :| . We have emailed the estate agent today and said we would like to complete by 31st August considering this is a no chain purchase of the rental house we’re currently living in.  It’s all dependent on the incompetence of the vendors solicitors (who took 6 weeks to send the draft contracts), but we live in hope!
Enquiries back, and just received the contract and TR1 form to sign and return.  Name spelt wrong on the contract 🙈, but seems like exchange might be on the horizon!
Currently waiting for our solicitor to confirm whether they are waiting for anything else from the vendors solicitors, with the exception of their agreeing to a rent refund depending on our completion date.  We’re buying direct from the landlord, so can’t see how they could insist we pay a purchase price and rent on the same house but who knows.  Didn’t fancy letting the sale go through without getting it in writing that we’ll be refunded on a pro rata basis. Just want it to be ours now so we can rip up the rotten decking and get things fixed 😫
Spoke to estate agent today who advised that our solicitor needs to follow up their email in writing to agree a completion date thanks to the absolute ******* the vendors are using insisting that they will only communicate by post.

Completion of 19/08 has been proposed by our solicitors, apparently the vendors are unhappy now it’s dragging on as well as us thanks to their own solicitors insisting on acting like it’s 1850.

Fingers crossed it all gets sorted. Sounds like it’s almost there! Get it done before the postal strike. So archaic some of these solicitors!

Solicitor has just sent us three emails with 17 attachments to read through and sign etc.
So I think the end is nigh!
Just got to trawl through it all and sign our lives away now. 251 pages of report on title 😫

It’s all very basic stuff, don’t be alarmed! Normally like a few boxes per page that don’t require a huge amount of willpower to get through! I read everything 4 times but only because I’m signing my savings away for a while. You’re almost there! Good luck!
