Yes this is my opinion too. i just don't want the fight, when they could just leave it behind anyway. Its a pain but I just don't want to bother with it. I just want to get in there nowZerforax said:mrso2012 said:Looks like we might be exchanging next week. Had a lot of aggro with our seller deciding to leave personal possessions on the F&F that we don't want but are lumbered with it seems as they just shut down & get angry if the EA tries to sort it with them. I just want it to go through now. The proposed dates are exchange on the 15th with completion w/c 25th but the seller is being non-responsive after pushing us to move quickly?! Fingers crossed we get some sort of confirmation tomorrow as I'm having nightmares that they're going to pull out of the sale
In the grand scheme of things, it's just extra hassle but not worth the fight with unreasonable sellers. Just factor in a trip to the recycling centre to get rid of the items? Might even be able to pay the removal company a bit of money to dispose (likely only if small outfit/man with a van).0 -
Well no exchange for us this week. Sellers solicitor now being difficult too and refusing to update the rest of the chain, shouted at our EA to just leave her alone she'll get to it when she gets to it yet all the EA says to me is how eager the vendors are to move?! Hopefully next week, who knows. All our funds are transferred, LISA money transferred to solicitor, everything is signed and we're ready to go. Just waiting on their solicitor to decide she wants to talk to everyone again.0

I thought we were finally there, all documents were finally received, everyone apart from the bottom had signed contracts, developer at the top agreed to extend exchange and completion until the end of July. Now the FTB at the bottom are saying they absolutely won't move until August as they won't give notice on their rental until after exchange! We have even offered to pay their rent and they're just now ignoring calls. We could threaten to pull out but if we do that then we'll lose our new build house anyway.0

Little update this afternoon. The search providers have advised they don't expect the local (searches) back until 2nd August.
There go my hopes that everything going well, we could be aiming for late July/early August Exchange/Completion.
My buyer still hasn't had his mortgage offer through yet either, which is still with the underwriter, apparently.
My solicitor still feels that there is still 'plenty of time' to achieve exchange/completion by end of August, which was a deadline set by my sellers. And she said once the local search is back, they will be looking to 'set dates'.0 -
We are at a stall as we have suddenly been told our buyers buyer is waiting for local searches! They take an average of 3 weeks but no one can get hold of them to find out when they were put in. We really wanted to move before summer hols being teachers but now it just seems to be slipping away. We’ve been ready 4 weeks so it’s just so painful waiting !0

Their solicitor usually won't start doing enquiries until the results of the searches come in. Enquiries usually take anywhere between several weeks and months to resolve.Domaco16 said:We are at a stall as we have suddenly been told our buyers buyer is waiting for local searches! Unfortunately you are nowhere near ready.0 -
Not only is my solicitor on holiday, now the covering solicitor is also on holiday.
3rd time is the charm right?! Maybe the 3rd solicitor can sort out exchange/completion.0 -
Absolutely no way to state that definitively. Some sols will do initial enquiries whilst waiting for searches. Enquiries can be simple and quickly resolved. You cannot know they are nowhere near, though of course that is possible.Slithery said:

My solicitor also did this. A lot of the enquires were answered before the local searches came back.nicknameless said:
