*update* we're in - we exchanged and completed on the same day on Monday! It was a long day but we eventually got our keys in the afternoon! :) Does anyone know how long it usually takes to receive any monies owed from solicitors after sale and purchase? I know it can depend on solicitors and we are chasing just wondered what other people's experiences have been - thanks

Congratulations pipscat!! Sorry no idea on your question but wanted to say congratulations. My turn tomorrow all being well. Not sure I’ll get much sleep tonight 🤞🏻
  • I am waiting to see whether I can complete this Friday now - my original preferred date but I was told if it didn't get exchanged the third week of June it wouldn't happen. I have been doing most of the chasing myself as the delays have been so unnecessary ! Not exchanged yet so I'm not holding my breath !
Good luck to all of you waiting .

When we completed on the sale of our old house the solicitor transferred the funds on the same day. Not sure if when purchasing at the same time this would add more "admin" times to the process though.

    Oh yay that’s good news!

We asked to start arranging dates at the beginning of this week and there’s been no reply at all- not even a ‘can’t do yet’. Really would like just even a no - no reply at all just seems really rude - or am I expecting too much???

We first asked over 3 weeks ago.  We have been given a vague hoping to complete in July vague response via EA.  The communication in the house buying / selling process is just generally utterly awful.
  • I have several concerns about our solicitors and the EA, but I'm learning that the fact they actually call back when they say they will and email within 24 hours is brilliant. Sorry to hear about the lack of replies/vagueness, guys. I hope it all gets sorted soon.

Just got off the phone to the EA here and it sounds like exchange next week, possibly with completion to follow the week after. After waiting for months, it's all a bit surreal now! Trying to work now (freelancer) but all my brain is sputtering on about is house stuff.

Also, amusingly, they popped my middle name as Keith on the mortgage deed, not Kate. Oops!  :#
