    27/05/22 - Accepted Offer on my house (Freehold) - Buyer is mortgaged with nothing to sell;
    30/05/22 - Instructed Solicitors (recommended by EA) to commence work on sale;
    06/06/22 - Offer accepted on next house (Leasehold) - Sellers are commited to selling, even if their next purchase is delayed or falls through (they will rent), and advised offer accepted on condition of being able to complete by end of August (for kids starting new schools), All parties suggest this is achievable with aim of 8-12 weeks average timescale;
    06/06/22 - Mortgage Application submitted;
    08/06/22 - Solicitors confirm work staretd on purchase of next house;
    08/06/22 - Fixtures & Fittings and PIF forms recieved and returned to Solicitor;
    13/06/22 - Copy of Lease and F&F/PIF recieved from Solicitors (from vendors);
    13/06/22 - Draft Contract receved from Vendors Solicitor;
    15/06/22 - Mortgage Offer issued, New house valuation carried out (desktop valuation)
    16/06/22 - Draft Contract sent to buyer solicitor;
    21/06/22 - Mortgage Offer received;
    23/06/22 - EA confirmed my buyers valuation had also been carried out (desktop valuation);
    24/06/22 - My Solicitor confirms cost to get a freehold purchase valuation and price quoted to vendors in 2016 to purchase the freehold. I can request/approach to buy 'informally' at any point, but to go 'formal route' I have to have been leaseholder for min. 2 years;
    Had a quick update from the EA sales coordinator last week (same EA selling mine and the one I'm buying):

    Searches have started coming back in;
    My buyers mortgage offer was imminent, subject to an ID check on his wife who he is jointly buying with;
    My purchase is moving slightly quicker than my sale, but hopefully the above will help catch it up;
    My Vendors are ready to go, just waiting on the bottom of the chain (my buyer, and me).

    Today is week 5 of the process since I accepted the offer on mine, so hopefully we remain on track from an exchange/completion by early August.

    yet - last time we proposed a date they came back straight away saying they won’t be ready so fingers crossed this is a possibility!!

    Survey is today! Fingers crossed it comes back with minimal problems.
    Ive lost two places in the last year due to valuation and survey problems so I’m really hoping this one is ok.
    Good luck to everyone waiting to exchange. Hopefully I’ll be able to join you soon. Survey pending…

    Doesn’t look like exchange for us today.

    Our solicitor asked us around 16:00 Thursday to confirm we are happy to exchange, we immediately confirmed. Didn’t happen that day.

    Friday… I asked our solicitor if we would exchange that day or would it be the next week. Heard nothing back.

    Today. Still haven’t heard anything so far. :(

    :(

  • Slowly prepping for exchange here. Stress levels shooting up as the solicitor seems to have plonked the sellers name incorrectly on the contract (and one of their "easy" process guides is so grammatically incorrect it's incomprehensible -- literally cuts off an instruction mid-sentence and typos crash into another two sentences?). I hope we like this house, because once we finally get in I'm not sure I'll have the strength to ever move again.   :D

    It’s some roller coaster that’s for sure. I’ve had insomnia all week with a mix of nerves and excitement. Maybe I’ll settle and sleep now we’ve finally exchanged. Good luck
