I remember at the start of my conveyancing on my sale they were taking ages and not responding. Hopped on the phone and after a bit of shoehorning I got put through direct to the lady who replies, response sent about 30 minutes later.

EssexJay said:So I am 6 weeks into a no chain buy as a FTB and my solicitor is beyond belief when it comes to communication. In 6 weeks I have called twice and replied to 3 emails requesting documents. This she classes as being impatient and chasing her to much. Last week i called as the seller is signing there contract today and i asked what the outstanding queries are, I was told ''I dont know without looking at your file''. I mean forgive me if I am wrong, but it is possible to go and get a file ?
Anyway, the seller wants to complete on 19/08 and we are desperate for that date as it will give us a week to get our rental up to scratch in between. I just dont understand how solicitors charge good money for the work but have no ability to communicate with clients, its like a surgeon saying ''Im going to open you up and do this, this and this but i cant answer any questions for you as i dont have your file infront of me'', ild be out that office in double time.
I have come to the conclusion that estate agents (mostly rental) and property solicitors/conveyancers are the absolute worst..

Day before and it's still about as clear as mud. I'm now in the stages where I need to buy home insurance, book a moving van, change addresses, cancel my unit, sort utilities etc.
Last time when this went tittywompus it was a right nightmare to sort out.
I don't even hope for clarity - stress me out if you must, I just hope we proceed with completion and everyone can move on with their lives, start living again.1 -

Looks like we're on for it, touch wood, everything looks good and we're all planned in.
Exciting. I can't wait to have things again, actual things - not a suitcase of clothes and a make do. The sofas I bought a year ago and have never sat on, the glorious fridge I've never turned on, a pair of sunglasses. My own personal space especially.

We are FTB on a no chain purchase; we’re buying our rental house, but it will be 8 weeks on Monday since offer accepted and we still have no draft contracts. We’ve been chasing weekly and were told last week by EA we could expect draft contracts early this week. Of course, nothing has been sent.Emailed the EA today and told them we need a firm assurance that the vendor is still wanting to sell quickly, as we were told initially, and to make our disappointment known in writing. Their solicitors seem wildly unprofessional; they told ours today on the phone that people have been on holiday which is why nothing has been actioned (for 8 weeks? I think not), and the EA herself emailed me at the start of the process and told me they were “known for not handing over paperwork”.Since the offer was accepted, we’ve received our mortgage offer and had a survey done on the house, filled out and supplied all the relevant paperwork immediately, and just feeling now like vendors and/or their solicitors are completely taking the mick.1
