Im trying so hard to not get impatient!
Offer accepted 24/4 Mortgage offer through on 20th May. Solicitor has said all searches etc were complete when i spoke with them 3 weeks ago- We were awaiting the leaseholder pack. Emailed Monday for update-, chased on Thursday- Still no response! Phone call Monday i think!

I know im only 9 weeks out but i have to hand in notice on rental property on 28th of A month and was hoping that would be june for a mid july completion! Looking more likely to be July now if things havent moved!

I did email estate agents too who said they couldnt do anything!

    Will see what Monday brings!

I feel your pain I am a week ahead of you and also waiting for the management pack. Supposedly a 14 day turn around so should be here today… I will be emailing also!!!!

Welcome to hell, the house buying waiting room.

Hope yours goes better than mine, DC Law is it? Awful firm, had dealings with them in relation to my sale and my onwards purchase, so useless we need a stronger word to describe them.
Premier Property Lawyers, same parent company I think? I'm on good terms with my buyer so tempted to suggest she switches solicitors - she'll probably save money considering how slow they're notorious for being!
Worth asking, these online conveyancing factories are the worst honestly.

More chasing on mine today, I don't hold out a lot of hope that we'll complete Thursday. I'm ready to walk down to the van place, hire a van and absolutely beast mode my stuff out of the unit and into the house. I'll carry it like a pack mule at this point.

I don't see it though, suspect the top of the chain is using some cut price solicitor who doesn't comprehend the delays incurred if we don't complete by Thursday.

Tried offering my solicitors more money to do our work on a priority basis and they said they don't do that. Bit disappointed that while we're only 4 weeks into the process, our solicitors now basically holding up the process by not raising the enquiries quickly. Everything else is ready and we're chain free purchase.

Yeah you won't be the first to try bribing people to expedite things.

It generally doesn't work, bit of a hail mary at the best of times.

EA has just shared with me the latest email from my buyers solicitor to ours. Enlightening at how poor our solicitor has been as hadn't had any visibility until now of this correspondence. Buyers solicitor using language such as 'to repeat (third time)' and asking for their numbering of enquiries to be adhered to and highlighting where enquiries raised on 13 April (!!) are yet to be addressed. This is just exasperating, particularly when one of the enquiries relates to the drawing up of a deed of covenant which is required as we are selling a leasehold. They could have got to work straight away on this on the 13 April as it isn't dependent on anyone else!

Losing the will to live with the sheer incompetence of some people...

No updates today. Doesn't look hopeful for completion on Thursday.

Mortgage free wannabe! No idea on date yet! £132,350 TBC
Loan paying off May 2022 £7000
  • The Solicitor at the top of the chain is holding everything up at the moment. This could easily drag on into August and September. Earliest I will be able to complete now is the 29th July.

Same here, for the first time in this protracted nature ordeal my sellers are ready but somehow their no onward chain purchase the solicitor is still "waiting on a document".

Mortgage expires Friday. More delays, setting records at this rate.

    Fingers crossed yours comes good
