Well we go again! Email sent to solicitor saying happy to exchange today so now we wait! Completion is meant to be on Thursday and vendor says rest of chain are apparently ready to exchange so keeping everything crossed we manage it today!
Good luck! We were promised exchange would happen a week before completion but for various reasons it kept getting delayed and in the end we exchanged and completed on the same day, last Thursday. It was so stressful!

But fingers crossed for you all on here. 🤞🏼

Oh god I don't know if I could cope with same day! A days delay is immaterial to me as chain/rent free but I know the rest of the chain have booked removals etc so dread to think of the impact a botched same day could have!

Word from the solicitor this morning - funds confirmed to drawdown on named completion day, awaiting to hear from sellers sols that they will exchange today and if theyve received funds. Will be kept updated throughout the day so looking to be a nervous one!

Just spoke to conveyancer and she’s requested funds for completion tomorrow . My mortgage company said that’s very ambitious . A 24 hour turn around just isn’t feasible . I’m not too bothered as long as it’s this week some time . I can’t face another weekend of uncertainty!

That's so annoying! You'd think that they would know what an appropriate lead time is given they do this day in day out.

She said to me Wednesday that if we didn’t exchange by Thursday last week we wouldn’t be completing 20th as planned and I then cancelled my annual leave … now saying she’s trying. My mortgage company said it’s a bit ambitious ! I was hoping for a stress free week . 🤣🤣
  • Last thing I heard was our solicitor said our sellers solicitor is trying to contact the solicitor above to get them to exchange

Still yet to hear from seller's solicitors that theyve got the funds from the onwards purchase - doesn't look like we'll be exchanging today. So annoying!

@SophMa1 your situation sounds so like mine. Our d day is Tuesday. If we exchange Tuesday we can complete Friday. If not we have to wait another week. Which means (I'm a teacher) moving when I'm back at work! The whole process seems to long for no real reason!
Good luck! Hope you hear news tomorrow
we are making progress.... enquiries are now satisfied!
Hoping to exchange and complete next week. Super exciting times
  • No exchange for us - again. But everyone now ready to exchange. Everyone had agreed to complete on the 29th - today we found out that this isn’t true and we now have suggestions of the 10th. We know it isn’t that much of a push back but bang goes the bank holiday weekend we needed for moving! Urgh

It seems our wishes of the 29th have been completely disregarded. For personal reasons we set the 29th as an absolute deadline.

So, what do we do now?
