  • So, here we are.
We’ve answered all the buyers first set of queries. All our queries from our seller have been answered. Everyone has had surveys,
mortgage offers. We’ve signed the contract and title transfer form and sent it back.  Our seller has agreed to break chain and move by mid April.

we are now pushing for exchange next Friday so we can nail it all down. What are the chances?!?

emailed our solicitor this morning and they have already emailed buyers and sellers solicitor to make sure they have been instructed and told about the same dates.

jeeeeze - it’s all a tad stressful. For one thing or another we absolutely need the date nailed down by exchanging otherwise we will have to reassess everything!

Why did no one tell me that the anxiety still says strong even after you've exchanged!!
    Exactly that.

In fact, I'm sure I found mine to be even worse.

Maybe it's harder when you're going it alone, and you don't have anybody else to help alleviate and offload some of your fears.

That was the case for me.

I know it's easier said than done, but please do try and relax and enjoy the moment.  :)

Here too, I’ve days away from completion, so far the process has been long and a nightmare, really dampened my spirits. Also feel like my happiness will be shorlived (even though it should be the happiest time of attaining my biggest dream I’ve been working for for the past 14 years) once I have to start dealing with all the bills which seem to be increasing at a very rapid pace these days :(

How long has your purchase taken to get to this point ?
  • Still no word for us after our solicitor sent an email yesterday AND we chased the estate agent yesterday. Starting to get nervous about it falling apart.

  • Ugh, my buyers are being a nightmare. Something about them being a limited company, so they needed a third firm of solicitors and a holiday over half-term and then the first appointment took over a week and there are still queries for the solicitor to pass to the mortgage company. In the meantime I have to keep paying for the place I am renting and the house I am selling, and the people I am buying from are having to pay council tax and insure an empty house. I've been expecting exchange any moment for about two weeks, but instead I just had to ask to extend my mortgage offer.

Good for you, the hardest parts are all over. Hopefully your move goes well and you enjoy your lovely new home  :)
  • Getting increasingly frustrated here. Our sellers have agreed to break the chain and honour our completion day on the understanding that we exchange next Friday…however we’ve since had radio silence!! Our solicitor has chased twice.

Any tips? What should we do? Shall we contact our buyer and seller ourselves?
