Ive just rang mortgage company and they just said they won't action release of funds until 10th as thats what solicitors have asked for. I just want something in writing to say good to go. So frustrating 😫 also got cut off after being on hold for ages and they didnt ring me back.
Are u hoping to be moving monday?
We are hoping to complete friday, removals booked, childcare arranged, finishing packing this weekend.
Fingers tightly crossed for u too x0 -

Fortunately I don't have to move on completion day and can in theory take as long as I want. Ideally I'll be in and settled next week though since that's the only full week off work I can get for a while. I had booked movers for Thursday to be on the safe side also because I'm a terrible procrastinator and haven't even started packing yet.
I'm lucky both my broker and solicitor are fantastic, proactive and responsive. I'm also in direct contact with the vendor although I'm trying to resist texting them too much for updates. My vendors aren't bothered on the day of completion since they already moved out to their new place months ago.1 -
Got our (supposedly) cash buyers to agree to exchange yesterday with completion set for the 8th.This was after a strange email from their solicitor in which he said they would need more time between exchange and completion for mortgage funds to arrive. When we queried this, solicitor said, oops, never mind, we can exchange as planned.Yesterday, we put in the call to exchange, and they weren't ready, as they hadn't sorted out buildings insurance. Buyer says he needs unoccupied property insurance, was being quoted too high, and couldn't sort it out in 3 hours. Now they're saying they'll exchange Monday, but need two weeks from that date before they'll complete (taking us to the 21st). Which makes me think they had never had any intention of exchanging yesterday, and are definitely not telling us everything.Well, I wish them joy of it, whatever their game is. If it turned out they needed a mortgage after all, so what - just be honest about it. Argh.

How did this go? The property we are purchasing doesn’t have a certificate either and therefore we are worried the mortgage lender won’t accept indemnity insurance so or they will ask for it to be re-valued!1 -

We complete tomorrow.Good luck to all those still waiting, I will be thinking of you.Congratulations on getting to the end point ! Was it a long chain ?We heard it was three initially, then found out it was five just before Christmas. Would probably still have been OK, but a management company went bust and one part had to wait for a takeover to happen and a new management pack. Now its the fun stuff - like finding out there's a PIR light in the bathroom, and you can't actually open the front door!1

I've just had my valuation and mortgage offer (offer put in in Jan) - so over to the solicitors now and from some of the threads on here not holding out much hope for anything to happen quickly...
FTB and going it alone - no idea what I'm doing so learning as I go!!0 -
November 2021 - Buyer put an offer in on our flat
December 2021 - Offer made on a house we wanted
December 2021 - Solicitors instructed
December 2021 - February 2021 Found out our name wasn't on land registry for our current place, huge mess up from former solicitor which is now sorted but caused massive delay not helped by christmas holidays
January 2021 - Surveys completed and mortgage offer received
February 2021 - Draft contract to buyer and seller sent
February 2021 - Searches began and enquiries received
March 2021 - Enquiries completed on sale and contract signed, waiting for our seller to return enquiries and sign contract
Solicitors seem to think we can complete by next Friday but I was hoping this week as my partner is working away next week. Pushing for this week for a completion date...
