The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

I'm supposed to be completing today.
My broker contacted me at 9am to say we had completed. The EA contacted me at 10:30am to say that we've completed. Complete radio silence from my solicitor. I've called them and had to leave a message.
Spoke to my vendor two hours ago and she was just about to leave for her new place (5 minutes up the road) and was going to let me know when she was ready for me to pick up the keys as it'll take me an hour to get there on public transport. Waiting to hear back, but would ideally like confirmation from my solicitor before I set off!
I'm only moving in with a single bag for now (will be sleeping on either the floor or the settee the vendor is leaving!) but I'm keen to get going.4 -
Well done and good luck to everyone exchanging today. My girlfriend and I are due to exchange any minute now after a lucky 13 weeks since we first reserved our new build. Feels a lot longer than that after a rollercoaster ride with a chain falling apart and then Bovis stepping in to part exchange, as they're keen to make their year end targets. Due to complete next Friday, have a week off work to settle in/unbox, and then the small task of hosting my family for Christmas. Quite the end to the year!1

It's funny how it seems to take so long when you're going through it but when you look back you realise that it hasn't been long at all!
Our abridged timeline:
14/07 Our house on market
25/08 Offer accepted
13/09 Offer accepted on our onward purchase
10/12 Exchanged
15/12 due to complete!
It helps that we had a cash buyer and our vendor was buying a retirement apartment with no chain!0 -

It helps that we had a cash buyer and our vendor was buying a retirement apartment with no chain!I know, It's weird, we have been quite lucky compared to some peoples experiences. Our house went on the market on 24/08 so quite a similar timeline really! This wait for exchange though is starting to drag - wish they'd hurry up already! The last hour and 20 has dragged!Hope your completion goes well.
