Isn't that standard procedure? Maybe the property is in one of those areas where there were a mass of "fraudulent" subsidence claims and the householder didn't give a thought to the permanent mark it would leave on the recordsDeletedUser said:Severely fed up

New to this thread but I'm also waiting to exchange... 18 months in the house buying/selling process after the chain falling through both sides multiple times and having to start again. @HopeAndDriftWood congratulations! I'm also expecting and due just before Christmas so I know how the uncertainty and stress of not being able to start nesting feels. When are you due? I have everything crossed for you!HopeAndDriftWood said:Hi all!
Revving myself up for another week... Our buyer text this morning that he last talked to his mortgage broker on Monday, who said his offer was ready to be released then, and his solicitor was Monday too, and she said she'd set aside Thursday to deal with it all.
I'm debating emailing our estate agent to say that if we don't have an exchange date set by Friday, we're going to need to pause this. I need to nest somewhere, my midwife is losing her mind that we're going to slip between the cracks if we move too late in pregnancy, and the stress is really affecting me. I really want the house, but I don't think I can push through forever...
As far as I know, the buyer has everything they need, and our sellers' mortgage offer expires at the start of the week after next. His sellers' expires just after that. I think ours will get an extension, but I feel like we risk getting to my due date and still being strung along...

Maybe the solicitor raised it? When we bought here, our solicitor raised a nearby planning application to the bank after we'd received the full mortgage offer... The bank reviewed it and decided they were still happy to go ahead, but it took 10 days or so.DeletedUser said:Severely fed up

We emailed our estate agent last night to say that if there's no progress this week, we will have to consider our options. We're all just going to run out of time, for the baby; for the mortgage offers... No reply yet. I'm hoping something is happening behind the scenes...
Congratulations @Ref44!
I'm hoping for progress for all the rest of us this week 🤞Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
Fingers crossed for you @HopeAndDriftWood it really must be so stressful for you.0

So all documents (contract, mortgage deed, TR1) on my purchase (nothing to sell) were returned over a week ago. After numerous failed emails and calls last week the solicitor is finally contacting the rest of the chain.... Hoping that it doesn't take another week to do this and that they come back with some positive news.

Updated today to say the seller has had a 'change in personal circumstances' and would sign the contract later this week. Been 4 weeks since the contracts were posted out and we returned ours the day after. Pretty sure the seller is going to pull out.sacvwgolf said:EA said the seller signed and posted the contract to their solicitors yesterday so hopefully it'll arrive today
Of course the EA lied to us!FTB

Yes, I'm in Yorkshire too. 20-30 years ago claims companies went door to door advising householders they could get "free decorating" if they made a subsidence claim. Amazingly, plenty did this, not thinking about the long term implicationsDeletedUser said:

I didn’t know that!Just so frustrating all the time I’m sat in Greece and still worrying when I’m meant to be relaxing0

Sorry, didn't mean to worry you. It may be nothing to do with claims in the area. Even if it is, I have been involved in 2 sales with such claims on them in the past and it didn't seem to affect the saleDeletedUser said:I didn’t know that!Just so frustrating all the time I’m sat in Greece and still worrying when I’m meant to be relaxing0 -
Hello! I'm sorry you've had a rough time too, it's so hard, isn't it?! I'm also technically due at the start of December; but baby is being evacuated early; so they'll arrive mid-November. So it's getting tight! Less than a month to go.Emmajhowe90 said:

How's your chain looking now? I really hope you're sorted soon too, fighting the instinct to nest is so hard!
I'm so sorry, that sounds really difficult... I guess the EA isn't at liberty to give you more information on the change in circumstances? That might make it clearer what the situation is... But I'm with you, I'd be feeling like this was probably it, too. I hope you get an update soon.sacvwgolf said:
