What has everyone's experience been with their "sales progressors"? Mine overall hasn't been particularly helpful, pretty much every time we've talked he will tell me that he has over 200 cases and that he doesn't have time, and I've run out of ways of politely saying "I sympathize but can you work on my case?", when it's really not my problem and  frankly I don't care anymore.

It's like the eternal excuse from solicitors about how busy they are, maybe charge more and take on less clients? It's not my fault that they've turned their profession into a race to the bottom.

It's all particularly annoying because I am paying a premium for a solicitor that actually has time to do his job properly, but everyone else involved is not.

Mine was really nice at the beginning, then disappeared. Turned out she left the company! Now I've been given a senior sales progressor and she's really hard to get hold of, but when I do she's great as she has the ability to update me on so much more of the chain and also yell at solicitors on my behalf. 

 That's great! Is she the progressor for your sale or for your purchase?

We're FTB so just purchase, but she is also the progressor for our vendors as they are buying a property with the same EA they sold with.

We’ve exchanged!!! Got the call at 3:45pm that we have exchanged contracts and are due to complete on Tuesday the 19th. It feels like such a relief. I’ve definitely had an easy go of it compared to a lot of people here, and feel really lucky about that because I don’t know how some of you do it. 

So glad we chose to put in our notice here last week, has saved us a months rent! We will get the keys on Tuesday and start moving everything over (since we have a few weeks overlap), hoping to be moved in completely by the 25th for my partner’s birthday. 

Thank you all for your encouragement, and good luck to everyone else who is right at the end, I’m rooting for you all ☺️

Looks like I can finally join this thread! 

It is looking like I will be Exchanging and Completing end of the month *fingers crossed*. But still a few things up in the air, so hopefully those get ironed out next week, and it is all systems go!

We are all set for Monday's completion. Due to extended attempts to exchange, our removals is slightly out of sync. The plan was always most of the contents going into storage on Saturday. Because we couldn't confirm without exchange, we lost the Saturday slot, so they came round yesterday. OMG, what a panic! Cat still here, as not due to go to the cattery until today, so had to work around her, and we hadn't totally finished packing as we thought we still had time. All good in the end, the team were brilliant!

So we went from thinking it was not going to happen, with exchange having stalled for 9 consecutive days. 24 hours later, I suddenly have a half empty house! So, anyone who is struggling with delays, lack of action, poor communications etc - hang in there. It will happen, and it is likely to happen fast! 

Amazing that you got removals sorted quickly & that your movers were helpful. Fingers crossed we have a similar experience. Ours seem very organised. So much to do this weekend though! 

We have been lucky really. They were recommended by a family member and a friend independently, and we have been talking to them since June, and I have been in daily contact with them since the start of our quest to exchange! Cat now at the cattery, complete with some serious cattitude as the movers took away her playground and then Mummy completed the upset with the indignity of being put into the carrier. if looks could kill... Now starting on the mammoth task of defrosting the freezer, cleaning the oven, packing up my desk, the rest of the kitchen and the various bits we have scattered everywhere, then need to put the brilliant new shark thingy through its paces!
