  • @HopeAndDriftWood Really sorry to hear that things have slowed down for you. I'm sending every positive thought I can muster to get you past the line on time 🌸

Any luck on getting that TR1 yet? That phrasing is so frustrating! Why arrange to email it over when she could just spend that time sending it over 🤨
Thanks @TheScone 🌼 Had to chase again, but finally got the TR1 at end of day yesterday. Big relief! Now I'm left worrying what else she might not have done. Work is ridiculously busy this week and I'm scared she'll throw some last minute spanner at me. I knew everything we should have had prior to exchange, but am less clear about completion. Of course I've asked what else we need to do, but she's incapable of answering that question.

We’ve exchanged!!! Got the call at 3:45pm that we have exchanged contracts and are due to complete on Tuesday the 19th. It feels like such a relief. I’ve definitely had an easy go of it compared to a lot of people here, and feel really lucky about that because I don’t know how some of you do it.

So glad we chose to put in our notice here last week, has saved us a months rent! We will get the keys on Tuesday and start moving everything over (since we have a few weeks overlap), hoping to be moved in completely by the 25th for my partner’s birthday.

Thank you all for your encouragement, and good luck to everyone else who is right at the end, I’m rooting for you all ☺️
    Hooray - that's brilliant news! Congratulations 🎉 🌻

They were recommended by a family member and a friend independently, and we have been talking to them since June, and I have been in daily contact with them since the start of our quest to exchange! Cat now at the cattery, complete with some serious cattitude as the movers took away her playground and then Mummy completed the upset with the indignity of being put into the carrier. if looks could kill... Now starting on the mammoth task of defrosting the freezer, cleaning the oven, packing up my desk, the rest of the kitchen and the various bits we have scattered everywhere, then need to put the brilliant new shark thingy through its paces!
Wish our cat had a bit more cattitude. She's really confident with us, but a bundle of nerves with strangers. She also goes into hiding when we clean, so she's going to hate what's coming. We're getting some meds from the vet, but she'll hate every second of the process. What's a shark thingy, by the way? Intrigued 😂
  • I’m so fed up still no exchange this has been going on since early july
i just can’t see an end in sight
Sorry to hear you're still having a horrible time of it. Hope you get some positive news soon 🤞
  • Hi everyone, Im coming on to 6 months almost since the offer has been accepted. I am a first time buyer and the person i am buying from has already bought a property so no chain!
Property i am buying if a flat which has 154 years left on the lease, the main issue for such a long delay was because if the management pack.
I have finally got everything back including searches and answers ti enquiries but my solictor has requester a lease which was on the title and after we get that lease i should be in a position to exchange.
The sellers solictor has requested the lease from land registry but its been over a week now and they still have not received it by post. Does anyone know how long this would take because my offer expires in 5 weeks.
    thanks
  • Congratulations @Faodail and @TheScone

And thanks for all the support. I cried a lot yesterday, our buyer confirmed he hasn’t heard from his solicitor either, and he apparently couldn’t contact them or his mortgage broker yesterday so he’ll try again on Monday.

We got a tearful call from our estate agent again, and an email apologising, which is what made me sure they knew the previous sale wasn’t going to happen…

As far as I know, our sellers mortgage expires the Monday after this one… so really, if it’s going to happen, it’d be next week. I have no idea if that’s possible… potentially, if his solicitor did read all the paperwork and previous enquiries and they’re happy, I guess. But unlikely if that isn’t the case…

I’m so frustrated and fed up of it all, but basically stuck waiting for Monday, again.

Bless you 😥😓 I really feel for you. When it goes right it’s amazing, but after being on this thread more often than not it’s really depressing. You must feel so stressed and exhausted...

what are the options if it’s not sorted next week and your sellers mortgage expires next Monday?

I really hope something changes this week, for the good which means you can proceed ❤️

Feliway plugin's are the way to go, really helps with cat-confidence. Not that my cat has these problems,  definitely thinks she is in charge!

The shark thingy is the shark anti hair wrap cordless upright stick. This gadget is the most brilliant thing I have bought in years! Mess is fixed in no time! Worth every single penny x
