I had this today. We have had to arrange storage, rebook the movers for another day and camp and the in-laws. Left our cats at the old house and have to pick them up early in the morning as apparently everything is ready to go, just would not have hit our vendors bank today so we could not complete. Most stressful day of my life.
That sounds awful. We'd lose a lot of we had to change removal day at such short notice - hope you haven't lost too much. It's so hard with pets as well. Really hope it all gets sorted for you soon.

@Nikki361984 and @FirstTimePlx so sorry you guys had no luck today as well! ☹️

Had a call from our solicitor around 7 with some positive-ish news. Apparently it would have happened today, but someone in the chain got funny about how/when deposit funds would be transferred. But that should now have been resolved so he feels confident we'll actually exchange tomorrow. But I don't want to get my hopes up, as we've been trying to exchange since 17th with no luck.
I've just zoomed through the thread to see if anyone had good news to report. It sounds as though you're so close @E_@E_D_FTB Really hope tomorrow is your day. Sending 🍀 to all of those who didn't quite make it today.
Thanks! I hope so too, my poor nerves can't take much more of this!

  • Morning all!

New buyer has submitted his ID and is pretty ready to go. We're waiting to hear from our solicitor to send over all the required information... as per usual.
Great that he's ready to go though. Sounds more organised than our buyer already! Glad to hear you've had some speedy progress.
  • My buyers buyer fell through today
Really sorry to hear that. Hope the rest of you can move forward once they find another buyer.
  • Just had a phone call from my estate agent - wanting me to make arrangements to drop off keys! I said but we haven't exchanged contracts yet - and she said well the solicitors are very busy so it will probably happen on the same day as completion, but obviously there is no gurantee that it will happen!

Looks like I am going to be in a position of having a removal lorry full of my house contents but with possibility for it to have no where for it to go! Don't know whether to laugh or cry - think I will just eat a big load of chocolate instead!
All sounds backwards, doesn't it 🙃 and sounds like unnecessary stress to me. Chocolate is a good plan whatever happens, but I really hope that lorry has somewhere to go!

Ah god, I’ve been up all day packing and arranging utilities etc, I’ve not slept in 30hours due to work, so only just catching up now, I’m so frustrated reading all this for everyone, I was hopeful for good news today, or at least signs of progress. I’ve been mad busy but thinking of you all.
Sounds frantic, but it must be such a relief knowing you will be moving soon. I hope that gets you through the exhaustion!

Just a fleeting check-in but sorry to read all the mixed posts today. Hoping for better luck and progress for everyone as the week goes on.

Proof that it can happen and that there are good people out there - we completed this morning, got the keys at lunchtime today. The sellers were so lovely - they had cleaned, left loo rolls, bin day details, a card and details of people who do various bits on the house plus set up each of the fires ready for us to light!

The only thing was there was a leak outside from the water meter when we got there but the water co. said it was on their side so would get someone to fix it tomorrow 😬.

Overlapping with the rental so moving gradually but didn’t want to leave tonight. Back with more boxes tomorrow and can’t wait for everything to be out of storage and in the house.

Wishing luck to everyone else. 🤞 Will pop back to see how everyone’s progressing but you will get there eventually!

Big thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and keeping me going during the rollercoaster ride that is selling and buying… 🤗🙏🏻🤪
Aaah congratulations!!! 🎉🎉🎉 So good to see someone finally making it! Enjoy your new home! Hopefully there will be a few of us joining you by the end of the week!🤞

  • We had okay(ish) news today. Our buyer was stalling last week & we spent weekend worrying he might pull out. I've seen an email trail today that shows he is pushing to get his new mortgage deal through though, which is something.  Solicitor is back to her non responsive self, but I'm not surprised this week really. The rest of the chain are still angry that we haven't exchanged, but threats just aren't helpful. Even our agents had a hissy fit at each other. Worse than my cat!
