So there was no exchange for me today! Hopefully we can do it same day tomorrow as I have Virgin Installation booked for wednesday which I now cannot reschedule. So frustrating!

Only a few days between exchange and completion seems to have become the norm during the pandemic, and is sadly sticking around. We're meant to complete Thursday, and have been failing to exchange for over a week. Really hoping it happens tomorrow as the uncertainty is driving me mad with anxiety.

Thank you...fingers crossed for you too. Yeah I think solicitor's panicked me with an email about how with short exchange/completion date all the extra work they have to do and if I don't complete being in breach of contract just out the Willie's up me so to speak 

Oh my god, that sounds so stressful! And pretty unprofessional tbh. Our contract with our solicitor includes a fast completion fee, presumably to cover the cost of the additional work. But it's not totally unexpected or impossible, particularly at the moment. Plenty of people on here who have only had a day or two between exchange and completion.

Just had a quick few reads of your posts. Congratulations, I hope exchange happens in the next few days for you, for completion on Thursday.

I am in the EXACT same boat as you now. Been waiting a week for the other side to sign their relevant documentation in order to exchange imminently for completion on Wednesday.

Congratulations to the both of us for our new homes.

It's a nightmare, isn't it?! Will be very glad when this over and we won't have to do this again for many many years.

Still not exchanged again today.

Tomorrow is the day before completion.

Ah god, I’ve been up all day packing and arranging utilities etc, I’ve not slept in 30hours due to work, so only just catching up now, I’m so frustrated reading all this for everyone, I was hopeful for good news today, or at least signs of progress. I’ve been mad busy but thinking of you all.

@Nikki361984 and @FirstTimePlx so sorry you guys had no luck today as well! ☹️

Had a call from our solicitor around 7 with some positive-ish news. Apparently it would have happened today, but someone in the chain got funny about how/when deposit funds would be transferred. But that should now have been resolved so he feels confident we'll actually exchange tomorrow. But I don't want to get my hopes up, as we've been trying to exchange since 17th with no luck.

If we atleast exchange contracts; then if anything happens, we atleast have some protection.

Exchange for tomorrow. Completion for Wednesday.

When do you roughly get the keys ?

Looks like I am going to be in a position of having a removal lorry full of my house contents but with possibility for it to have no where for it to go! Don't know whether to laugh or cry - think I will just eat a big load of chocolate instead!

I had this today. We have had to arrange storage, rebook the movers for another day and camp and the in-laws. Left our cats at the old house and have to pick them up early in the morning as apparently everything is ready to go, just would not have hit our vendors bank today so we could not complete. Most stressful day of my life.

This is the plan for me too! Fingers crossed. I’m wondering about the time as well, unsure whether to take Wednesday or Thursday off work?! (no chain)
