@climbthatwallseegar - you must be so frustrated! Maybe start booking some viewings of other properties including with the vendors EA. When they ask why, explain that you are still committed to the house but as there has not been any movement you need to now start considering other options. This will either start the process rolling or highlight that they still haven’t found anywhere. I hope you get it sorted and see some progress soon 🤞x0

Thanks @WorriedKirkels. The EA actually continues to send me properties via a mailing list. Their sales progresser said he understands my frustration and they will leave my offer on the table with the vendor whilst showing me other properties if I see anything if interest. So far nothing else has come up but I’m keeping any eye out. The property I’m currently trying to buy ticks almost every box. It’s immaculate, beautiful garden, 2 mins walk from a great school. All of this makes the delay even more painful!0

climbthatwallseegar said:I am trying not to feel bitter this morning. A friend who put her property up for sale at the same time as me just sent me a video tour of their new house as they moved in yesterday. They sold at lightening speed and she joked that since the sale went so well they were guaranteed to experience problems with their purchase. Well they found a chain free house, vendor moved in with their son and daughter in law and the sale completed in about 10 weeks.
I sent back a cheery message (and I am happy for them!) but has compounded my sense of gloomIt’s been almost 2 months since our offer was accepted and our vendor has been searching for an onward purchase. I told the EA last week that we’d have to restart viewings soon as we are just stuck in limbo. EA then responded 2 days later to say the vendor has suddenly found somewhere. However since then he has been unable to get any further information about this alleged onward property as the vendor has not released info about the onward property’s EA. My solicitor also said the vendor’s solicitor, who told her he been instructed to not send the contract until the vendor had found somewhere, has not responded to her emails asking for an update. So I’m calling BS and think the vendor is still looking. I really hope I’m wrong. Living surrounded by boxes and half our life in storage is really not great.0 -
I emailed my solicitor yesterday after the mistake on contract, do I ring first thing in morning and ask if she can do another and I pick up from office the same day or wait to see if she emails me first as I just want it sorted 🤔🤔0

Altho we got a £12,000 reduction on the house as the survey came back and valued it at £17,000 under. We offered them £12,000 under our top line and they accepted again.
Make it clear that you need to see some big movement in the next few weeks or that you will be looking elsewhere.0 -
My solicitors is useless at responding to emails, the only email they have ever responded to is the one where I agreed to use them🙄.
However it seems to be going fast, I got the searches back, I signed the deeds last week, and signed agreeing to buy the property, I'm guessing it then got sent to the seller for signing it also.
I asked the solicitors how long til exchange/completion, they said 2 weeks, now a week later I have no update, so going to phone at 9am, as it's getting close.
Could I really have the keys in a week?
Seems quick to me.
I'm 1st time buyer and seller is a landlord selling up some of his houses, house is vacant.
Gave my months notice to my rental last week, and want a week with both places to clean both places and move.1 -
