Well dancing star at least your EA is doing something, beginning to wonder if mine is still alive...
And now BT say it will take up to 2 weeks to switch the service over. Bloody marvelous.

Still rumbling on. Completion before Christmas isn't looking likely :-(
  • Still haven’t exchanged!!!

My solicitor said she eventually heard from the vendor’s solicitor but only with the news that they haven’t heard from the vendor about a couple of enquiries and agreed completion date before the exchange. Great. My solicitor didn’t seem very confident any longer about completion on 17th at all as she needs enough time to request funds from my lender. If this is the case then how do people exchange and complete on the same day?!

It’s driving me mad now. I wish I could just do it myself! Buyers have agreed 17th.

Meanwhile I am stressing so much about packing and have a headache pretty much every hour I am not asleep.

I’ve felt really positive all the way through and now feel quite deflated and fed up :(

Hope you get some news today Regina. I have no idea how people manage to exchange and complete on the same day, it seems impossible to me!
Hoping that we'll be ok to exchange today, I need to drop a document in to the solicitor on my way to work and then get on to my insurance to provide the schedule for our policy as the lender want that to start from today to allow exchange. I'm hoping it won't be a problem for them to email it to me, work are going to be fed up with me if I'm distracted by house move stuff for much longer! Luckily I have a lovely manger who is very understanding...

Well.. we are now on Wednesday, all the searches are back and there is nothing more outstanding. Money transferred and showing on book at the solicitors. Insurance all sorted out. Everything signed. As far as we know exchange can happen any moment now until Friday afternoon. The end is near.

To everyone else hoping that this week is the week to exchange.. I wish you the best and all the luck..
  • Finally signed all paperwork yesterday, all queries answered, off to close my H2B ISA today

Wise move, evicted tenants often leave loads of rubbish behind, make sure the vendor is going to clear the place, write it into the contract as a rider if necessary.
Hope the tenant doesn't cause any malicious damage, have a really good detailed look

So today is eviction day - it was booked in for midday apparently so I'm nervously awaiting a call from the estate agent to say they now have vacant possession.....I'm supposed to be inspecting the place with a builder in the morning!
  • Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if someone can help me with the process.
We are now at valuation stage, valuation and home buyers is due to take place next Monday hopefully if the sellers agree.
and we've paid for the searches
Just wondering roughly how long it will take and what happens next

    We have exchanged...!!

From our first visit to our Mortgage Broker 16/09/2017 without any idea what we were doing really to seeing our house the 23/09/2017 and made an offer there and then and had it accepted while standing with the vendor in the kitchen to today.

I know we were lucky throughout our process, us in London, the Mortgage broker in Lancaster and our Solicitors in Morecambe and the house in Sheffield.

    Completion is the 24th November..
Moving date is the 27th November..

I am now on my way to work so no alcoholic celebration today!
