@Gemm83 @E_D_FTB So much juggling to do! We don't have to worry about handing in notice (for which I'm very grateful). We have a big move involved though and our movers need 4 days to complete the process, all of which means we need to book well in advance. The lead time is 4-5 weeks at the moment and they won't take bookings until exchange. This is also making early September look impossible for us. Of course we'll look at other companies, but with pets involved too (and heavy workloads for us) it's tricky to negotiate. I hate that it's so hard to plan ahead with this process!0

Agreed on the planning - without any dates to work towards it makes it basically impossible! And communication up and down the chain (at least for us) is painful and just makes everything more complicated than it needs to be. I wish there was some sort of dashboard with an overview of how all parts of the chain are progressing that we could all see, so at least we wouldn't be blindsided by changes further up the chain all of a sudden!

Yes, I really wish the process was more transparent. This time round we're in contact with our (lovely) sellers and it's really helping. We only contact each other with key info, but hopefully it will help when things get stuck...which they're bound to.0 -
We're very impatiently waiting for dates now, we're in rented at the moment so don't need our sale and purchase to exchange/complete at the same time but do need our sale to happen first.
Last Friday our solicitor and estate agent were going to push for a completion date for next week on our sale but we've heard nothing yet and we've half given up chasing!
Our vendors are moving to a new build which is meant to be ready in September but initially they had said they'd move out sooner if we needed them to. We're waiting to hear if they're still prepared to do that. We want to be in asap and definitely before the end of the stamp duty relief.
It's all so stressful and frustrating isn't it! It will be worth it in the end though for all of us I'm sure!House sale/purchase progress (we're selling our rental property and currently living in rented so no pressure to complete both on the same day).
2/6 - Accepted offer on our house.
15/6 - AIP in place with Halifax
18/6 - Offer accepted on our dream home!
19/6 - Solicitors instructed
23/6 - Broker applied for AIP with Nationwide to allow us 23 years due to hubby's age - AIP referred!
24/6 - AIP approved
5/7 - Full application finally in with Nationwide & valuation booked within 2 hours
6/7 - Valuation
12-13/7 - Hard credit searches on both of us with TransUnion (Credit Karma)
13/7 Hard search Equifax (ClearScore)
14/7 Proof of deposit requested in a different format
19/7 Gifted deposit form requested for non-sale part of the deposit - funds were from some inheritance, not gifted - deed of variation sent.
2/8 Text and email saying offer issued, details to follow in the post!
21/9 Exchanged on both properties
24/9 Completed on sale
14/10 Due to complete on purchase1 -

That's so good that you're in touch with your sellers. We've been going through the EA, but they're very communicative and open with some repairs that need doing pre-completion which we are extremely grateful for! Further up the chain, however...10th June - DIP submitted

Hot of the press, my GF has today received a letter marked 'urgent' from Nationwide addressed to her buyers but sent to her address. Totally bizarre - why would the Bank send a letter to the address of the place you are trying to buy when you've not even exchanged, let alone completed!1
