I have the best update ever, so a brief reminder, we are in rented and have to give 30 days notice from 14th of the month. Obviously with exchanging yesterday I've only just given notice, meaning we should have had the tenancy until 14th August. My landlord has just agreed to end our tenancy on 14th July, meaning no extra month's rent! I've never been so relieved in my life!
Thats great news! As a renter too I completely understand the stress of that extra months payment and I really want to avoid it if I can. That said, my landlord has gotten wind that I'm leaving and is trying to get me to offer notice without me yet exchanging lol

Congratulations to everyone who have recently completed... I've been lurking in the background following everyone and its great to see people finally getting there... we were informed yesterday that searches have now been requested. We are FTB, buying from someone who isn't rebuying so the only sale is the house we buying so after reading this tread and seeing all the delays I am thankful ours will be the only searches we waiting on, but still realistic this whole process could take a long time... is there anyone who are at a similar stage in the process ?
Sort of in a similar position. No chain either side (me FTB in rented on rolling contract, vendors already have possession of onward property), offer accepted beginning of May, Mortgage offer received end of May, delay getting draft contracts from vendors (useless) solicitor - finally got that on 17th June, searches applied for same day. Told that searches due back on 10th of July (so will be the 12th realistically given the 10th is a Saturday). Enquiries raised by my solicitor on 18th of June. Chased EA last week in the hope of enquiries being answered and returned before searches back (to avoid further delays) but to no avail.

My solicitor thinks there is still a chance of completing by the end of the month so would be 12 weeks from start to finish, but that's obviously very dependant on many factors outside of our control. I hope so as I am completely fed up of waiting and its not even been that long really!

    Good luck with yours!
FTB here, moving into an empty house as vendor has moved into rented. Offer was accepted early April, submitted our mortgage app a couple of days later, that took 5 weeks, searches requested mid May, they took another 6 weeks, been with the Solicitor for 2 weeks and they have advised enquiries will be raised this week. In total we are on week 13 since offer accepted.

So ahead of Friday the solicitor has sent over the completion statement and requested authority to exchange.

I'm starting to believe it might happen!
    Fingers crossed for you!! 🤞🏻🎉

Hi @C_N_ I think I remember you from the Nationwide thread

The waiting is tedious isn't it? I know I should be patient but I've hated my rented house for so long now - I just want to move!

Ha yes indeed that was me. It is tedious, I'm coping with it much better than my partner tbh and compared to the wait for the Mortgage offer everything else has felt far less stressful. I felt constantly sick for that entire process.

We need to pack but we just can't motivate ourselves to do it untill we get an idea on dates, then it'll be all hands to the pump 😂 it's frustrating with the lead times for furniture too, I want to start ordering ASAP but need the confirmation on everything else first 😬

I’m the same as both of you! Being in my flat and wanting to pack up but the more I pack the less room I have 😂 just want that date ASAP so I can finally get it all away and move!

Unfortunately my house looks like a bomb has hit with packing already. The company I work for insisted we took half our holidays before the end of June because of Covid (makes no sense because customers will still be on holiday in Jul/Aug as they always are but less said about that the better!) so I used the time to pack as much as I could and now I am utterly miserable living in what can only be described as a glorified storage unit.

Fingers crossed we will all see some better movement now the cases that were wanting to beat stamp duty should be done.
