We’re also waiting to exchange. I’m not really sure where we’re up to now, to be honest. We had some queries raised by the buyers’ solicitor which we’ve answered, and we’ve had a draft completion statement. It’s been about 7 weeks since we accepted the offer, so I’m not sure how much longer it will be or how much notice we’ll get before we need to move out.
  • Congratulations to the exchangers and completes!!

we’ve had a minor update that our buyers solicitor has finally requested searches… ours came back in 5 days so 🤞🏻 For the same as our sellers and those above are all ready!!

we’ve begun decluttering loft down!! I’ve never been in the loft in the 14 years we’ve lived here and it felt weird knowing we are moving!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Today learned that my searches for the property I am buying came back last Monday and that the case is yet to be allocated. Letting that delay slide due to the busyness of stamp duty expiration last week and will trust conveyancers to allocate and raise enquiries this week.

I heard from the EA I'm buying from and my sellers are at the same stage in their purchase (end of chain). Apparently they haven't even got mortgage offer though. Not sure how much I should worry about that when we're already 10/11 weeks down the line

I wasn’t going to join this thread until I had found a follow on property. But will post with the sale of my property.

Sold in May, instructed solicitor immediately to try and get the ball rolling. Buyer (mortgage) surveyor came out in June. I’ve chased solicitor twice, to see what’s happening, and been informed enquiries are pinging back and forth between solicitors. That’s it so far!
I’m guessing I am some way off before I see Exchange and Complete?  :|

Thanks everyone! Will still be a pile of nerves until Friday and those keys are in my hands!

With regards to completion, do solicitors give any update beforehand? As in say Thursday would they get in touch to say completion is all good for tomorrow or will I not hear a peep until its done? If its the latter I can see me calling Thursday 🤣

I didn't hear back anything until the day.... And then just got the call to say sale had completed and were waiting for confirmation purchase had gone through. I did get a text off nationwide though saying funds had been released the day before

Ah cool. The estate agent emailed early this morning to say he will call later to run through what will happen Friday 🙂

    Morning All!

Woke up to an email from Target with my authority to complete on the sale so my fingers remain crossed but in a vaguely more positive movement. It does look like Friday is the only day where it won't blinking rain this week which I'm hoping is a sign.

Packing is all but done - we're at the stage of throwing stuff in a box and labelling it 'bits and bobs' and 'stuff'

Haha me too. I started out with boxes for each room and have progressed to I'll just chuck that in there cause there's room 🤣
