    Eeek waiting is the worst. On the bright side we managed to secure a last minute man and van to move the bulkier stuff, we'd planned for my dad to help but he's now isolating due to covid!
    I know! I'm still waiting too! I could barely eat at lunch!!  :D
    I'm distracting myself by dismantling wardrobes 🤣 the baby isn't happy about this though lol! My partner is working everyday so I have to pack up a 4-bed by myself 😳😳😳
    I have the opposite problem, I'm (trying) to work from home, my partners son is visiting for the Summer and my partner had to pick him up from a different country (he's 14) so now I've got the 2 of them quarantining for 10 days because of the travel, and need to pack our 1-bedroom flat. Definitely feels overcrowded here!
    Oh blimey I think I got the better deal, mine is out of the way so can't say I'm doing it wrong or moan when I get bored of doing one room so start another 🤣🤣🤣 to be fair I'm almost done, just the last of the washing to get through and pack, the teenagers room to tackle then bathroom and kitchen to pack up thursday/Friday. So exciting!

    That's amazing! I've only packed 2 boxes so far, mainly with books and stuff i had floating around the living room!
    When do you think it's a reasonable time to check with the solicitor how they are getting along? I don't want to get in their way obviously, I just want to make sure they don't "forget" to le me know. :D

    I don't know I hadn't thought about it! I might email the estate agent for an update 🤣

    Has anyone had quotes for removals (without the packing service) for a 3 bed house? Just keen to see what is normal so I don't get overpriced. We haven't got dates yet but I'm hoping they will be set this week!
    We had a huge array of different quotes. We're doing the packing ourselves with boxes from amazon and ebay (the hanging wardrobe boxes are superb!)

    The cheapest was £495 but they didn't even come out to the house. GB Liners wanted £1100 and we've ended up going with a local firm who are £690. We're in a narrow new build so there's lots of dismantling and reassembling to do at the other end and there's no key waiting fee.

    That's for 3 vans and 5 guys.

    Ah @laura_lau amazing!! Congratulations. You must be over the moon!! No news for me yet I'm afraid.

    As for removals quotes, we have just booked a one man van to move 6 bulky items (fridge freezer, sofa and some furniture that doesn't dismantle) and it cost £150. To be fair I'm amazed we got anyone at such short notice and it takes a bit of stress out as my dad was gonna move the big stuff and now can't so we were worrying about how we were gonna do it all! Thanks Covid!

    That's fantastic!! Grinning myself at the idea of being on a video call after hearing that news.

    No call as promised from estate agent yet, going to give them another hour. Thought it was them earlier and got excited but it was a scam call.

    Huge congratulations @laura_lau !!

    @CLJ2986 - £150 is a bargain!

    Cheapest quote I’ve found to move a 1 bedroom apartment with no white goods to a house about 23 miles is £335! Average was about £550!
