    Morning All!

Woke up to an email from Target with my authority to complete on the sale so my fingers remain crossed but in a vaguely more positive movement. It does look like Friday is the only day where it won't blinking rain this week which I'm hoping is a sign.

Packing is all but done - we're at the stage of throwing stuff in a box and labelling it 'bits and bobs' and 'stuff'
Haha me too. I started out with boxes for each room and have progressed to I'll just chuck that in there cause there's room 🤣
@Reddington85 that's great news! Hope it all goes smoothly!

I'm totally in the "bits and bobs" phase, since box 3! :D

Congratulations to everyone who have recently completed... I've been lurking in the background following everyone and its great to see people finally getting there... we were informed yesterday that searches have now been requested. We are FTB, buying from someone who isn't rebuying so the only sale is the house we buying so after reading this tread and seeing all the delays I am thankful ours will be the only searches we waiting on, but still realistic this whole process could take a long time... is there anyone who are at a similar stage in the process ?

laura_lau no, I rung them and they said they'd call me tomorrow. Playing phone tag is not fun  :s

Good luck today to everyone. Laughing now at my solicitor saying we'd definitely be completed by end of June.
  • Heard from my solicitor that completion is fixed for Friday now. Paid the final completion balance yesterday so my bank account is now looking a little sadder than it was a few days ago  :D

Don't ever buy from someone in massive amounts of debt (although you won't find out until close to the end of the process). My sellers multiple debts that have been placed as charges on the property are the only thing holding up my purchase now, and wasting me money as I have to pay to stay longer in my current place.

Update from me. My solicitor told me last week that she will propose a date for 6th july to complete however sellers came back and said they cant do that date so then my solicitor said 16th july and again they cant do that date. So now we dont have a date and just waiting for another. I dont even know why or what's going on. Dont think there is anything I can do but wait to hear for another date. Was looking forward aswell for next week .

Update from me is still no update. Survey on our purchase complete and nothing worrying there. Enquiries on our purchase still outstanding (sent 21/5/21). Out buyer has not raised any enquiries so far Which the solicitor thinks is odd. Had their survey on our house last week which included a mortgage valuation. Losing hope of an end of August completion. Meaning some long trips to and from school come September.

Major update!! My solicitor said we’ve been ready to go for a while now 🙃 so I’ve pushed for a completion date and he’s going to see when they are ready to move!!

Sort of in a similar position. No chain either side (me FTB in rented on rolling contract, vendors already have possession of onward property), offer accepted beginning of May, Mortgage offer received end of May, delay getting draft contracts from vendors (useless) solicitor - finally got that on 17th June, searches applied for same day. Told that searches due back on 10th of July (so will be the 12th realistically given the 10th is a Saturday). Enquiries raised by my solicitor on 18th of June. Chased EA last week in the hope of enquiries being answered and returned before searches back (to avoid further delays) but to no avail.

My solicitor thinks there is still a chance of completing by the end of the month so would be 12 weeks from start to finish, but that's obviously very dependant on many factors outside of our control. I hope so as I am completely fed up of waiting and its not even been that long really!

    Good luck with yours!
