Posting in anxious solidarity with the others exchanging / completing today, good luck!!
  • It just feels like another Monday with no expectation from me!

We've signed the TR1 forms, sale contract, buying contract and mortgage deed but absolute radio silence from the Solicitor.

Only update we've had is the vendor checking we definitley want to keep his built in cooker

Good luck to everyone exchanging / completing /waiting for news this week!
I'm supposed to be exchanging today, I've already paid the due balance from the completion statement, and solicitor hsa confirmed she received it. According to EA, the vendor has already given authority to exchange today, and I've given mine to my solicitor. She said she's waiting for confirmaiton from the lender that they have indeed released the funds, then they'll exchange. This day is already feeling waaaay too long!!!
Good to know lots of us are in it together today!

I'm just patiently waiting for my solicitor to be back in the office tomorrow. The ea did say that she had asked another solicitor to sort some stuff while she was off and he's confident we will exchange this week. Good news is she has been in touch with sellers solicitor and the 9th was apparently agreed to complete. So excited to think we will be moving next week!!

Good luck to everyone hoping to exchange/complete by Wednesday!

We just got our completion statement today - just got back from doing the CHAPS payment at the bank and now I'm just waiting to see what happens. We've agreed completion on Wednesday, and exchange could happen any time from this afternoon to Wednesday. I have so much work to do but I'm just sitting here waiting for my phone to ring or for the 30th to come faster.

If solicitors are going to request authority to exchange will it always happen in the morning?

@m4x1ne  - sounds like I'm in a similar position to you! Refreshing emails to make sure my payment has got through to the solicitor.

yep same - and staring at my phone because apparently the bank might call to double check I authorised the transfer. I'm not even sure what the plan really is re exchange, because in every piece of correspondence I've had with the solicitor in the last 5 days the date has been different.

Requesting authority or exchanging? Ideally you'd get authority first thing so that's out of the way. Exchanging, again ideally as soon as possible but that can come down to when both sides are available to do the phone call.
