@ Natbag SO pleased for you after the horribly stressful time you've had
@ others who have also exchanged or completed today - fantastic. Now, get some sleep and your lives back!!
@ everyone else still lurching from rollercoaster to ghost train while sleep deprived and blindfolded, dodging stray bullets and hand grenades from awkward buyers and sellers...... you will get there. And if you don't manage to buy your 1st choice of 'dream home', you can be just as happy in your 2nd choice. Honestly2 -

@badger09 - I'm currently on my 4th choicewould be absolutely gutted if this one fell through
@rosierunner congrats, Im still genuinely in shock that you managed that in 6 weeks!!
As for the rest of us still in purgatory - hang in there and have a lovely bank weekend peoples! Try to enjoy this weather as we all know it won't last!3 -
cherrypancakes said:@rosierunner definitely agree with you, the process in England needs reforming, I'm heading into month 6, there is just me, a FTB, buying a chain free property. That is it. Just me buying one property and still 6 months on, I'm still here. After the bank holiday, I'm going to start pestering everyone daily because I really want to complete by the stamp duty deadline. I'll only be paying £1k in stamp duty if I don't make it but I'm renovating the whole flat and it's costing a pretty penny so I'd rather have that £1k in my pocket!0

Hi all. I've been wanting to join this thread since September! But we've had a bit of a journey which I won't bore you all with, just yet anyway 😂 but I do have a specific question I'm hoping those with more experience might be able to answer.
Like everyone else we are trying to beat the deadline, but found out today that the banks valuation on the property we're hoping to buy isn't until Thursday 17 June! We applied in March and it's taken this long as hubby is SE and they've really got strict. But we should get the formal offer within 2 working days of the valuation. Will there be enough time to draw down the funds (porting mortgage with santander) and exchange/complete on time?! Of course this will depend on everyone else being ready and I know its really close to the wire, but I really don't want to be the one that holds everything up after coming this far and everyone pulling out all the stops. I'm not concerned about the valuation as we're less than 50% ltv and we have the money to make up for any potential down valuation.
Please someone put my mind at rest!
Congrats to all those who have exchanged/completed this week xx0 -

Not quite. But if they are by then I just want to know if we'll have time if we do receive the offer by the 21st. At the minimum we'll have to have a very short gap between exchange and completion, just to add to the stress!0

@Natbag congratulations I am so happy for you, what a sweet relief it must be to have the end in sight at last.
But what will I do now??!! I've been lurking for a month or so, daren't post our own "journey", which I am suppressing any stress about as I know it's not in my control, so I have been vicariously stressing through your posts. I might now have to face up to my own situation 🤣 I guess I can cling to @Caz_Mnaz and @BountyBlink instead.
Congrats @amyr too.
Thanks all for posting it's nice to know things do eventually get sorted.2
