Welcome to the forum @rakoczigabi :) things are taking a lot longer we're finding so great that searches are back but solicitors might take a little time to get responses to enquiries etc
Ohh yeah :( mine seems to be pretty slow.
Or maybe the others. But as long as I’ll be moving I’ll be happy. Luckily I’m not in a massive rush.

I've been reading this thread for a while, it's been very informative! Very tentatively joining as it seems we've finally given our lender all the required information and we should get an answer from them next week (after a very stressful 2 months of waiting!) My solicitor was instructed the week we put our offer in as we didn't anticipate the problems we have had getting a mortgage offer so I got a notification yesterday that all searches are now recieved. I haven't been in touch with my solicitor at all yet due to the mortgage offer, so I'm wondering if we will now receive any paperwork from them? It says enquiries have been sent to the seller but the responses aren't back yet so will they wait until that happens? Feel so clueless!
They should update you with answers to enquiries once they receive them and a report on the search results if not already done. It might be they’re not prioritising your case with the mortgage offer not being back yet.

Over the last couple months I’ve emailed my solicitor fortnightly for updates. Things only seem to get done when I email so if you don’t have any updates it’s always worth an email.
I thought that would be the case, I was surprised to get the notifications saying stuff was done, I thought we'd be at the back of the queue til we had an offer. Definitely a bonus to be as far as we are already. Unless we get declined then I'll have a nice bill to pay and no house 😳

Just to clarify I know that's a risk we took so it's entirely our own fault if we do end up with a large bill to pay 🤣

Just wandered by the estate agents and it’s now been updated to say sold stc. Was a very nice sight! We instructed Solictors to start searches last week - anyone know roughly how long they take to come back? Also waiting for the vendors Solictors to draw contracts up. Property is empty so hopefully won’t be too long now.

It varies by local authority I think, someone posted a link to check them but can't remember who or where now. Mine was one of the longest at 35 days but according to my tracking page they came back after around 24 days. I assume their 35 days is 35 working days so on that basis it was super quick really as I've included weekends on my 24 days!

Is it the search flow website? If so ours is showing 11 days so fingers crossed that’s accurate.
  • Congratulations to those who have exchanged and those who are now in their new homes.

My solicitor confirmed she is dealing with enquiries raised by my buyer and asked advise on one query which I have replied to.  I know many people struggle with the communication from and to their solicitor but must admit mine has been brilliant, she even replied to an email I sent on a Sunday 😀

Really hoping the end is in sight.

I'm absolutely devastated we are moving to be closer to aging parents.... House went on the market in August and we should have moved just after Christmas had the chain not collapsed. As some of you know dad had a stroke just before Easter but yesterday we were told the numerous scans have found pancreatic and liver cancer... They've estimated he has a few months. Utterly heartbroken that thanks to lockdown and now this ridiculous process that I've lost precious months with him. Almost past caring about moving dates now and I'm moving in with mum until we actually exchange and I need to pack etc

    What a s****r!
