Does anyone else feel anxious constantly about their purchase or are you all excited and don't feel nervous at all? I really like the property and there's nothing similar within my budget... but I feel like I'm a crazy person at the moment and swing from this is the best idea ever to what the hell am I doing this for depending on the hour of the day ...
Well an update for anyone who is interested! All my enquiries are back, except one certificate and they still haven't updated the illegible contract documents (I think my conveyancer forgot to ask for new legible copies so luckily I requested that on email two weeks ago so I couldn't be accused of dragging my feet and being awkward!)
I think these will arrive early next week, and then I should be good to exchange, but I don't want to exchange until 3 weeks from today (though I am happily to complete the next working day after that). Various reasons as work is hectic, family problems currently so I just want everything a bit more settled before I push ahead with a new phase in my life! My vendors have no onward purchase, so there is no chain, so hoping if I explain thats payday and it would be substantially helpful to wait to exchange then, they will be willing to wait (they will be moving out the week after next anyway and leaving the property vacant...)
Fingers crossed!
Also had a conversation with an old mentor who was a property developer about my property, my concerns, the economy, how to best manage my finances that has really calmed my nerves.
And yesterday I was informed I have passed probation at work (when I applied for MIP they never asked for 3 months wage slips, I didn't realise I had a 6 month probation, but they apparently didn't care either!) So at least I know the job is secure now too...
Moving along now! Hope my other FTB with fears are staying sane(ish) !! :rotfl:0 -

I feel like this every day, and I am only buying not selling. I dread the day when I think its a good plan to do the two concurrently...! :rotfl::rotfl:
I am just blaming the fact everything in my life *exploded* at the same time (since I offered on the house, we offered on a new office space at work and I have fitted that out and moved 30 people in whilst trying to do the same on my property purchase...!)0 -

Ill pop my head in here with any progress and hope to rejoin you all soon xx
Oh happytails only just catching up on the thread, I was just looking and thought your seller offering that purchase would have resolved it! Cant believe they didn't agreeSo sorry you are back to square one!
Hope you are back soon too0 -
Hi,
I received the mortgage report and mortgage deeds from solicitor today, requesting i sign them. I have contacted them but haven't heard back. It says to complete urgently to avoid delays. I assumed i was very early on in the process as haven't had searches back, my independent surveyor report back - but this looks very formal! signature needs to be witnessed.
i am reluctant to sign this until i know theres no problems with the house structurally wise etc, should I sign??0 -
Mortgage report and deeds received. Exchange is imminent. :T:T
*bear in mind this is second offer and we've already done searches, etc.2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. Installed July 2012, acquired by me on purchase of house in August 20170 -

All very stressful!
So sorry Happytails! This process is do stressful. Fingers crossed for good news soon. X0 -
I started the process in May and still going. The house is essentially falling down but I need to be in a very specific location for health reasons so it's all I can afford. Hopefully by the end of August I'll have the keys - then I have to find some builders who won't rip me off/disappear etc before I can give notice on my rented house.
Is anyone else out there going it alone?0 -
FTB in Scotland, buying alone with Help to Buy ISA. 90% LTV through Nationwide, with a broker.
AIP arranged approx 16/06 for different property
20/07 Initial viewing
25/07 Second viewing
26/07 Offer accepted
01/08 Mortgage application submitted via broker- for wrong amount!!! Amended almost immediately
04/08 Savings and ISAs closed down and cheques paid into bank - 4 years of diligent saving for deposit now reduced to bits of paper!
I'm waiting on mortgage decision I guess now. No chain with sellers who have proposed entry date of 1st Sept. Not sure if this is realistic! Seems to be passing quickly and not enough progress being made. Very nervous about mortgage as this could all fall through. Bamboozled by whole process.
Good luck to everyone!0 -
Well got searches and contract on Friday. Signed and sent back yesterday. I'll transfer over my deposit tomorrow so looking like the 10th for exchange is actually realistic. They've given 18th for completion but what are those days in between actually used for?0
