Unless you're going to deny that fact?
I'm going to say that it's not easy for someone who's lived somewhere for many years to move.
Where are you from by the way?0 -
maybe the residents could sell all the cars, and take on all those abandon yellow cycles that have currently been left all over London. the first yellow cycle road........... then the few inches of a vehicle would not create the chaotic car parking which is causing such havoc for one council officer.Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0

Its nothing about "reminding people" theirs a new council official who wants to impress which includes a bit of money generating.
a bit dramatic regarding "land grabbing"
the difference is, you would be choosing to overhang your boot, these residents are not choosing to do this.
Land grabbing is a perfectly reasonable term for what's happening. How else would you describe consistently appropriating someone else's land for your own use?
And yes, the residents are choosing to overhang the path. They did so when they acquired a vehicle their drive couldn't accommodate.
Basically, the council is in the right and the residents are in the wrong. There is a reasonable arrangement that could be worked out to ensure common sense applies, but I think it's unreasonable of the residents to describe the council enforcing the rules as "stupid". Their default reaction is hostile rather than accepting that they're in the wrong and working with the council to see what might be done to help the situation. That's why I have no sympathy with them. They are the ones who have behaved stupidly because if the council plays hardball, the residents will lose.0 -

The correct legal term is "purpresture".0 -

Its also important to mention, no pedestrian, cyclist, a pedestrian with a push chair or even a wheel chair user has complained there is no space to use the paving, this has all come about from the council official.
What's your relationship to this street? Do you, or anyone else you know live in it?
If not, how do you know there have been no complaints?0
