Gants Hill residents fed up of ‘stupid’ fines for cars parked on drives

No, but they are the ones who have more assets than space to store them, so its a problem of their own, selfish, making.
Maybe they should look into renting garages nearby - gumtree suggests it'd be cheaper than tickets.

Not necessarily. Owning one large people carrier might be necessary for a family with 4 kids, but might be too large for the drive.0 -
I think the coppers should bring sandwiches.trinidadone wrote: »This could be a cash strapped council to fill the empty coppers.0 -
Some fairly harsh people on this forum.
Yeah, its all peace and love here. welcome aboard stoke, theirs more traffic wardens here than in Westminster
rules are rules, and must be enforced at all times, even if it costs the driver £120.00 a go.Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -

No they are not. Their property boundary ends at their front garden wall. Anything beyond that on the street side is the Queens Highway.
The bit of land in front of their houses within their boundaries which they are claiming is for parking cars was actually the front garden when those houses were built and for many decades was used for growing of flowers and grass and not parking a car on as can be clearly demonstrated in the picture of a house on Google Streetview on Roll Gardens which hasn't demolished the front wall and paved the front garden to dump a car on.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Then simply extend the property boundary, therefore residents can park in front of their home in keeping with the strict rules and regulations of parking, and the council official can find something better to occupy his / her time.
Its also important to mention, no pedestrian, cyclist, a pedestrian with a push chair or even a wheel chair user has complained there is no space to use the paving, this has all come about from the council official.Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Providing the residents all agree and all agree to pay for the cost of the extra parking space then it would be a problem.0 -
Looking at those houses I doubt anyone in them has the money to buy the land from the local authority that they would need to to extend the front of their property boundary. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. And look at the vast space of paving, the growing flowers and grass maybe true at the front gardens / drive ways, but you can also see a single yellow line along both sides of the street, so the residents are stuffed, cant park on the drive, cant park on the street.
we will never know when the yellow line was painted, maybe some of the residents moved onto the street before the restrictions were in place.
Modern day living requires transportation for some.Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -

So what's your point?
You have no rights to a parking space outside your house and if their cars don't fit on their drives they need to find an alternative solution.0
