I set up an account & phone order with them 29th Nov, got a freepost envelope from them 21st Dec, posted my phone 23rd Dec and have heard nothing since.

I emailed mpb and they emailed back the next day to say they'd not received the phone. Then 2 days later I got another email stating they'd received the phone and payment would be made, which is was a further 2 days after this. Slow to get off the mark but eventually got a satisfactory outcome.

They have over £100 worth of my phones, had them since early Dec'09, I have had exactly the same negative responses to those listed so-far, holding/delaying emails. I am now starting to research who this person is, this is the first set of information that others may find useful in tracking down the people behind this scam organisation, like others I agree, Martin should not be making any links to their web page. Their action is in breach of contract and the agreed T&C's and tantamount to theft.

You will find that tel. number above is not operational, but the name is correct. I am now moving on to 192.com and maybe next the Police.

Allegedly there may be a link between these two organisations - MPB and Ebays Shop Euro-fones, I'm thinking you send your phone to MPB and they then place it on EBay hoping to sell and make a profit then pay the MPB customer, keep the profit- see if you can make a link between your phone and any sold by Euro-fones.

More information MobilePhoneBuyer.net server is located at : Karlsruhe, Germany.

So folks, your phones are almost certainly in Germany by now, maybe this is why they use a PO Box near to a Ferry terminal? This is confirmed by examination of the emails I have recived from MPB, check the properties of yours, you will see references to German Internet Mail services.

I have more information but I cannot post here, but now I'm getting close to finding who is behind this organisation. If I don't get my Phones back or the money owed to me in the next few days, my next step is to target Royal Mail to prevent the PO Box from being used, then the Internet Service provider - are you reading this MPB...

    More info. from Royal Mail:
"To rent a PO Box, you must work or live at a permanent UK address (as recognised by us) and be over 16. We’re sorry, but you won’t be able to use this service if you have a temporary or ‘c/o’ address. And applications must be in a single name."

"We reserve the right to withdraw the service immediately and without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of any of the service conditions, or where we believe the reputation of Royal Mail Group Ltd or Royal Mail could be brought into disrepute."

"The box must not be used for any illegal or fraudulent purpose."
  • Leave this lot well alone. I have had exactly the same problems, looks like I have been done too!
  • OK, good news after lots of emails to MPB I have now been paid for my phones, it appears (!) that a number of payments were incoprrectly made over xmas due a system error, mine was one of them, so get in contact with them and keep on until you get your money
