I have two short sleeve t.shirts 1 long, and a sweatshirt plus jeans for gardening. The tops are also used for painting and hair dying, but with joggers instead of jeans !Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0

Right, craft stash almost ship shape. Chucked some bits of cardboard I had taken from various pretty boxes, some bits of ribbon salvaged from the loops in clothing, and a few card toppers that were part of a job lot but do not spark joy!
Have now got like-with-like, easily viewed, neat and TIDY
Just a small file of toppers to sort, some nice words to cut out so the surplus card can be binned, and some hardware to fit neatly in the one box and it's done. Feels good!
While I was sorting I also found just the right bits to make a card for my friend, so they are put aside for the next creative moment :rotfl:
Sorry to say that DH has returned after the co-operative gent from the weekend seems to have gone back whence he came! He appeared at lunchtime and made a UDI, insisting he did not want the HM soup I had prepped, instead cooking veggie burgers for himself. So I had a salad.
I suggested soup for tea but he said he'd go for fish n chips (wd be just fish for me:)).
I tidied until 7pm, looking forward to the fish. I asked him if he was going soon, having worked up an appetite. Oh no, he says, I'm going to have beans on toast. Et moi? 'You can have whatever you like'. Gee, thanks! So I had the soup. On my own. Men!?I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
MMF007 personally I would go for fish myself another day, stating when questioned that it was believed that he was sorting himself out... Men! Mine has sworn to dry "school" nights when he is working the next day...and proceeded to bring in 2 glasses of white wine with tea!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

The weird thing is that we rarely get takeaway so it was odd that he even suggested it!
Hey, ho.
Today I am taking curtains to dry cleaners, the 2 large bags of Stuff to CS, going to the dentist's, dropping shopping off to a client then I have 3 hours work to do. Oh, and I need to call in on my auntie who was bereaved 3 weeks ago so I am making more time for her. I have had to write myself a timetable :rotfl:I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Kittie just say your "podiatrist has advised against them" if anyone asks
Good idea floss. I have been wardrobe diving again and gone through everything one more time, result is half an empty drawer, tops transferred to wardrobe, some clothing for cs to hide the shoes while I escape and some for the tip
Looking at my cycling/allotment stuff objectively, I wear long sleeve cotton tops almost all the time and the best ones are ones I dyed myself from the time I ordered white long sleeved cotton bargains from lands end, I still have some of these white tops and found 4 packs of dylon dyes. The tops turn out really nice and are good as a layering layer for quite some time. I also have 2 proper yokel smocks which I can wear over them. Just got to buy salt
Don`t spread yourself too thin MM, having a timetable is good
Another bag almost ready for the cs, already labelled with gift aid details, I`ll leave it open until the last minute, in case I find something else0 -
Thank you to all for your support.:)
Wort - yes thank you i want to be as km'd as you so whatever happens in this journey (DH health) the house and running of it wont be a barrier. Im ashamed to say last time we had a medical emergency in the middle of the night i tripped over the filled charity bags at the bottom of the bed!! I have learnt my lesson and CS bags now go in the car when filled :rotfl:0 -
Hmmm anyone on here that suffers with CFS at all? I just about have the energy to work in the morning (am self employed), but struggle from lunch time, so tend to sit at the pc and do admin type work for the business. However, I have an entire house, attic and could throw in two sheds and the garden, that need decluttering (combination of many things over 20 yrs!).
There's me and my busy lil son living here, with my partner visiting, so only have sporadic help and run my business out of here too, so generally have extra dogs lurking and can effectively work 24/7 and weekends (can't afford to turn jobs down). I am gradually renovating whilst living and working in the house, so sometimes other things become the priority suddenly even though I'm exhausted the majority of the time
My question to you decluttering professionals is, which do you think fits best with my situation, Konmari or FlyLady decluttering 15 mins a day? I really don't have time to read up on either of them, I lterally have to just dive in and go as I do voluntary work and am trying to study for two courses, as well as look for a new work vehicle before January.Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Savvy, it's only my opinion but I was exhausted reading all the things you do plus what you want to do and adding in a health condition Jeezo!! Lol.
I would suggest (and this may be controversial or not 'feel' right) but take one year out from your volunteering as
1) whatever it is you are doing you are no good to them burnt out and exhausted
2) its perhaps better using your energy on getting your studying, your business and your family under control before you look outside the family unit
3) sadly whatever cause it is is unlikely to be fixed in a year and volunteering can be a huge sucky minefield of guilt and over work far beyond what you originally thought you would put in per week and politics but therefore you can come back to it refreshed, renewed and bursting with good ideas next year because
4) if u start kondoing soon you will see it will free up energy, time, resources, physical space, mental space and good feelings which will help you run your life easier. As far as I understand fly lady will be helpful once you have kondo'd because there is simply no point using your limited energy storing, cleaning, tidying and corraling things that will end up going out the house once you get round to kondoing. 15 mins on kondo will reap huge results.
Just in my opinion on your short post without background etc etc and hope this helps

Hi, Savvy, is this any help? Its from the Flylady thread here on MSE. You could make it 20 minutes or whatever works for you.
"MAD half hour
- Mad is the abbreviation for Make A Difference.
The idea is that you have a Forth bridge (ie never-ending - or just huge) task but that you work on it in half-hour bursts. This way you know you ARE stopping, and that you won't get it finished but you will make a difference - so it might be clearing out - the garage or shed, or clothes sorting, or weeding - you get the picture - but rather than keep going until you've lost the will to live you do half an hour...but, eventually those half hours will get the job done!"‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
