  • Please dont anyone leave! I need your advice in my KM mission :)
Two big life events have hit ..one i am receiving tremendous support from my local hospice so i donate most of my C/S bags to them. Another big event happened last week. The need to KM is greater than ever.
I will in the future need to market the house ...and i want to be able to accept help if friends offer it without being embarrassed by my clutter. (Dh received a diagnosis last week) My house on the surface looks ok but drawers cupboards lofts and garage are not. I want to streamline now whilst i can.
So please keep chipping in with your words of wisdom..it all helps.i stalled a couple of weeks ago and some great advice got me started again.

Picklepot drawers can be done one at a time while sitting. Don't be bothered about what other people think - true friends won't care and those who do are not true friends xx

I use a biscuit recipe for children which is in a dairy book of family cookery. I have also successfully substituted the flour for gluten free equivalent. They got finished up by friends who couldn't tell the difference. The recipe book isn't at home so I will get it tomorrow in case it's of use

I pack my clothes for holiday, rolled, as per the Kondo method. I want to post a child's polyester velvet type dress and am thinking how do I pack it. Should I roll it or should I fold it? Can anyone give me some advice please? Many thanks.
I've really kondo'ed one of our bedrooms this past week. In fact given bags to charity and sold a couple of large items. I now have an almost empty room ready for decorating- only taken me a year thinking about it and a week to do it! Lol

My auntie used to say , "Them as matter don't mind, and them as mind don't matter!".

OceanSpirit, I have placed alien DH into his space craft, he should be with you any moment. Please look after him, he's very precious :D

One very large and one large bag going to CS tomorrow, yipee!
I have a free morning so I shall repair DH's shirt (so he can get dressed up when Ocean sends him back!), and then I shall tidy my craft crate. Everything fits in but it needs a better order and I may be able to release some items once I examine them for joy potential.

    pooky, happy new curtains :T

Picklepot, your circumstances sound very very difficult. Please help yourself,to some hugs (((((0)))))
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

The first part of my post was quoting someone else post but it didnt quote properly but i was saying that that is how i live now. Currently looking at a wooden window that is sealed shut not one weve managed to change yet as hopefully when we get work done it will be bricked up.it has the old DIY double glazing sliding things too infront of it but still have a draught on my face and that window looks into a very poorly constructed conservatory (i hate calling it that because it sounds like a usable space but its not everything rots in there) that you cant get to without walking outside very weird set up and still got a breeze!!
Ahhh we had to shut one up here too......with gaffer tape! The phone had rung one day, so I left the patio to answer it, came back out to smashed glass all over the chair where I was sitting! The bottom of the frame on BIG son'sthrough and the inside pane had slid down and smashed where I was say - literally could've killed me!!!:eek::eek: So that was it, wasn't allowed to open after that, but then part of the remaining smashed through and so an old bit of glass was gaffer taped on to stope the rain coming in onto son in bed!

My bedroom window had it's own swimming pool inside it when it rained, you couldn't see out of any of the windows as the units had failed and when they were shut, you could see outside through the frames lol!

FINALLY got to buy the house at the end of 2015 and windows and doors were the first to be done!!!

Picklepot thinking of you and sending strength and hugs.:grouphug:

I found that being kondoed, really helped when hubby died, having everything in order is one less stress to think about. You can find all relevant items, and it's easy to keep clean. I've been busy in the garden again today ,kondoing more pots, and trimming back, it's growing like wild fire out there.
    Loved the little Buddha post.

  • More paperwork separated out for shredding. I'm working on the piles and piles on top of my very large desk from which only tiny glimpses of the top are currently visible.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.
