I misread your planting Siebrie and thought you had acolytes. Had a vision of tiny, robed, religious people walking over your flowerbeds, like the monks on Monty Python!
I discovered a forgotten stash yesterday in a bedside cupboard. It gave me a bit of a shock, but is all now in recycling bins.
:rotfl:
I keep on finding 'stashes'; I found the fourth (fifth?) stash of batteries in the garage yesterday! I think they grow up, leave home, and set up there own nest.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
I hope to goodness that I haven`t got any more hidden stashes, I must have been through everywhere by now, I hope so, it has been tiring. I took one last??? large trolley load to cs this morning, large jigsaws and several more books. I don`t think I can do much more now, maybe it is time for me to quieten down as the weather settles into winter. I`ll be able to do more in the garage, at least make it look like a workshop, when I have ploughed my way through the half tonne of wood pellets in there and that won`t happen until I need the stove to be on
Its kind of left me in a bit of a vacuum, I have enjoyed the clearing and sorting. I have wool stashes to get through, maybe I should be knitting, I feel ok doing that as long as I get the very necessary exercise via cycling around the lanes, including several hilly bits, thank goodness for first gear btw0 -
Having a quiet morning and managed to load up the dishwasher, hang laundry outside and do a bit of reading.
The sky has clouded over so rushed out to bring in the washing which is nearly dry. The recycling bins are collected tomorrow so will take out the boxes and some flattened cardboard boxes as well.
Looks as if a top I bought only a month ago needs to be kondoed as there are some holes in one of the sleeves and I can't think how it happened. DDs have shoved bits and pieces behind the sofa and chair in the living room so am going to drag everything out and get rid."This site is addictive!"

I kondod a pair of curtains that were only at the window because they fitted, for another pair I picked up at a CS......these too are being kondod this week as they don't hang right and will not stay pulled back far enough to let light in(they've got the ring tops but are far to stiff to fold nicely). They were going to stay but a lovely lady on freecycle offered up 2 pairs of curtains that are the exact colour of the hallway and one pair will go across the front door (they are huge so will have to take them up), the other pair will go across the hall window (again I'll need to take them up but I can make tie backs for both pairs from the excess fabric). Very good quality lined curtains but no longer the right colour for the ladies home, her non joyous curtains have now sparked for me. Yay!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. It's funny how things go round and round. This week I freegled several items that would be binned by most people. It makes me happy that someone is making use of my old jam jars and egg boxes.
Could anyone recommend a good biscuit recipe? I want to make prettily shaped and iced biscuits for our charity stall. I am not a baker. I would say that I'm a pretty good savoury cook, but I've never really liked baking. Too much faff. Ideally, the biscuits could be made in advance so that I don't have to get up at dawn to make the ruddy things.0 -
Hi Fen1
I know it's old fashioned but it is an OS thread so what about making cheese straws? Should tick the boxes as in
a) savoury
b) faff free as you can be more or less generous with the cheese according to taste
c) quick and easy and can be stored for ages, saving time on the day?0 -
Might have a think about cheese straws. These charity fayres are usually full of sweet stuff.
However, I specifically want to make a shape that is pertinent to our charity. I've got the cutter and the icing, I just need the right dough!
Is gingerbread a good idea?0 -

Or make a cheese biscuit dough in the relevant shape0 -
Fen, I made these the other day https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/68611/double-ginger-gingerbread-men?fcid=95703
They last a week easily and soften up over the time. I didn't have ginger (used mixed spice), no stem ginger and popped in a bit of black treacle - they were really good and held their shape when cooking.
Or cook cheese scones/biscuits - cut a slice of cheese with a cookie cutter and place on top - works a treat!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
