I might have missed it but are their plans for a 2018 thread or are we sticking with this one?

I might be wrong but I think the style of this thread is that it keeps going until maximum capacity is reached i.e. maximum number of posts reached, when a new thread will be started.:D

Liking the 2017 reviews - it's been a year of real highs and lows for me.

Very bad first part: started the year off by returning down south from my mother's funeral. Worked hard on helping clear her house with my brother, and taking on the probate work solo. Didn't seem to be getting better from the chronic fatigue. Favourite remaining rellie in the extended family given a terminal diagnosis.

Second part much better: my sister helped me to get to see our terminal rellie, and his current treatment is going well. Probate granted and money disbursement commenced. We shared out lots of stuff, including patchwork stash. Had some building work done - more still to do, but the house and the shed are suddenly fit for purpose. My chronic fatigue improved massively and I realised that sleep levels were probably now the most important thing.

Kondoing has helped me through all of this, reclaiming space from the working environment it used to be, to become my own home, my private space.

I am a bit unusual in that I don`t tend to look back, what is past is past, I cannot do anything about 2017, except obviously have learnt from it and take what I have learnt as I go forward. I do have just three main aims for 2018, not resolutions because they are often made to be broken. My new house, which I still have to find, keeping up with cleaning and repairs when needed on this house and to actively save as my endorphin release, not spend which I now realise was comfort and endorphin producing, something I learnt in 2017

I am making a big effort to only use my stash of eucalan for machine as well as hand washing. I bought loads of it when lakeland was selling off stock, cost me buttons but it takes up a fair old bit of space. Stash busting is what I am about now, I finished KM and am very slowly reducing store cupboard items like top notch specialist bread flours (kept cold and dark in lock n locks), I have learnt from 2017, to finish and only then re-order. Candles, no more buying, just because, just in case. I am using to help with heating and it is working. Lovely specialist expensive teas, personal use only. I am using, making an effort from today. Keeping some of my tea making equipment out and handy

    Thank you all.
The Nye party went well ,i did get emotional but it was expected. Dgson and I got home at 3.30am, so have only got up and had breakfast just now. Today will be resting.
I'm hoping 2018, will bring acceptance of the things that have happened, and as always to spend as much time as possible with my family.
My bigger goal for kondo will be to redo the garage.:T

Happy New Year to all - I'm looking forwards to a happy, healthy and unused-eventful new year !
Last year, brought a lot of ill health, then my husband had a serious accident in September, should have died, but luckily pulled through, but it has and will carry on being a long job for him to be back to normal.
And last night my new car was Kondo'd ! Burnt to a crisp Ina car park fire!
Children are fine though and that is the main thing.

Yes it was in the arena car park, Liverpool , last night - I'm just hoping that the fire was last night, so still in 2017, hoping 2018 will be a brighter one all round.

^ Very scary about the fire!:(

I just kondoed the last of a bottle of hair conditioner doing a few loads of washing. I have some other conditioner I don't like and I will use that up to shave my legs.

I threw away the last of the coffee as my husband doesn't drink it anymore and I have given up sugar so I won't drink it without it. I have a box of black tea that I will give to my mil and stick to herbal or green tea.

I found three things to give to a CS and found one jumper has a hole that turned into a rip so that will be binned.

I managed to kondo my hangover from last night with a salt bath and lots of water.:p

Brilliant fun night here with friends and our children. Late night (4am!) but such fun! No-one hungover, as only moderate amounts of alcohol consumed (you can tell how rock and roll it was - my bestie and I had mugs of warm milk at 3.30/4am!!)

kaz - sorry to hear about the car - but, as you say, it's a thing. We were talking about it this morning. Whilst I really like my car (had it from new, no longer made so not possible to get a 'new' one) it is just a car. All I keep in it is shopping bags, a child car seat, a couple of brollies, a couple of rugs and things like de-icer, a torch etc - nothing 'important' all just stuff. I'm not aware that anyone/ any animal was injured and I truly hope that is the case - the inconvenience of being without a vehicle is trivial by comparison (although I guess some will have had possibly expensive presents/ shopping/ belongings in - nightmare insurance claims)

    Here's to a simpler, yet satisfying 2018 x
