  • Poor you SM, wretchedly horrible and I so hope you get rid of the troublesome tooth on Friday xxx.
  • The offending tooth is gone which has definitely helped the pain. Still on the antibiotics so no relaxing G&T tonight but hopefully it will continue to improve. Dentist said it will need to settle for a few months before I can consider an implant or a bridge so plenty time to think about what is best.

Huddled next to the radiator as it is bitterly cold here. Hope everyone is staying warm.
    NO FARMS = NO FOOD
  • Sorry to hear that you've had tooth ache SM, it's awful isn't it.
It's a shame you had to have the tooth out, but if it was causing you that much pain, it had to go!

    Hope you'll be ok.
  • Glad the tooth has gone SM, stay warm it's not nice having a sore mouth AND being cold too. Hope you feel much more like the normal 'you' very quickly.
  • Good evening all, and I hope to find you all reasonably well.

SM I hope the gum is healing well, it must be a relief not to be in pain, I hope your Mum goes on OK on the 11th, I wonder how many sessions of radiotherapy she will need.

Well for myself the news is good, I have only a small amount of arthritis in my hip, so what is causing the pain. GP didn't know, so I asked him if he thought physio would help, oh yes definitely. I have had this for 5 months, seen 3 doctors and not one of them thought it might be worth mentioning.

I asked him to prepare a letter for a physio and that I would go privately, I really couldn't wait any longer. I had an appointment a few days later with a lovely girl, about 12, not really, she took a full medical history, gave me a physical examination, found all the things I couldn't do. She said the muscles were so tight in my right leg and this was giving me the dreadful pain in my groin and she felt she could help me.

She did some stretching exerercises with me and gave me a series of exercises she wanted me to do over the next 2 weeks. It is one week tomorrow since I saw her and I feel so much better, nothing like the pain I had before seeing her and I am doing the exercises twice a day. It looks hopeful to me and I hope she will be pleased with me when I see her next week.

I have heard from TA, who was quite busy this weekend with her 3 granddaughters and her Son had taken her shopping during the week to stock up rather than face the shops and the Christmas rush on her own. I think the girls are good for her and keep her on her toes. It isn't going to be an easy time for her over Christmas, but she will have her lovely family around her.

Lyn, are all the boys looking forward to Christmas and getting a little excited? I have a feeling you will be quite excited having Christmas in your new home and being able to see all your family.

Well I think that is enough of my ramblings, I will try not to be a stranger xx
  • Well that's the best bit of the day tuning in here and finding a post from you!

I'm so pleased your leg is better with the physio, being in pain is so draining and when no one medical will listen it's hopeless too, thank God for a sensible GP!

Good to hear that TA is holding her own, dark days at the dark time of year are often so hard to cope with so thank God also for families to love their mums and keep their heads above water.

The boys are growing up fast and according to their Mum really enjoying their advent calendars this year and Zebra understands about Christmas and is excited but Oreo is just wondering what it's all about bless him. Looking forward to the weekend before Christmas when we'll have all of them here with us so 6 adults and 4 kids and it will be magic!

Keep posting Candlelight, I've missed you and your news, love to you both xxx.

Lovely to see you Candlelight and to find out that finally someone has started to help you with your knee, what good news! Hoping that the improvement continues and you will be fair skipping around before too long :D
Ouch on the tooth SM but as others have said better out than in.
All is well with us, I attended my first physio rehabilitation class yesterday for my knee, it’s sore this morning but that’s to be expected. We still have Capt S’s eldest staying with us at the moment, he should be getting the keys to his new flat either today or tomorrow but the letting agents aren’t the best so we will see.

    Love to all x
  • Hello all,

What a cold day it has been. The weather lady said it would be milder but wet, well it certainly hasn't been mild here. I am now warm but I wasn't this morning

Had a nail appointment this morning so took her Christmas present with me, one less in our bedroom. All the young people, and slightly older Dds are having money and just 2 presents. I haven't been able to trawl the shops and quite honestly they prefer the money, so it has been easy.

I have quite a lot of the food toward Christmas, but I will need to purchase a turkey crown. There will just be 4 of us on Christmas Day, but then Boxing Day all the young people will come but probably not at the same time, but that doesn't matter we will have a running buffet. DGD1 (who lives with us) is going to do the baking, gingerbread men, chocolate tray bakes, shortbread, and anything else she thinks of. She is very good because she always washes up after herself.

Next week might be quite busy, because on Tuesday I have a medication review in the morning, physio in the afternoon, and then I am out with the "girls" for our Christmas "do" in the evening at a Greek restaurant which I am looking forward to. My sister and I want to go to the Crem some time for Mum and Dad, I usually prefer to go at the weekend when there are no funerals taking place.

DGD has her Christmas meal on the Wednesday evening and then she and her BF are going to London for 2 days on Thursday and Friday.

Enjoy the rest of your evening xx
  • Cold here too and currently wet and horrible! I put the tree up this afternoon, I don't normally until closer to Christmas but it was just so dreary I thought It's St.Nicholas day tomorrow, I'll put the tree up so I did and it cheered up a grey and joyless afternoon. We have the stove lit so am now warm and fed and going to have an early night. Weather isn't forecast to improve greatly over the next few days and into next week, in fact it's going to be cooler but we've enough wood to stay warm and I'll make stew, that'll hit the spot.

We have all the family coming the weekend before Christmas but will be on our own for Christmas Day for the first time DD1 and James might bring the boys over for a visit in the afternoon but DD2 and family are up to the In Laws as FIL's cancer has progressed and this is possibly his last Christmas, it's only right that they go for everyones sakes, MIL, pickles and themselves and make some memories for those left behind but mainly for FILs sake to let him see they love him.

Stay warm and dry if you can xxx.
