Just popping in to wish you all a happy New Year when it arrives. I'm sure many of us will be glad to see the end of 2018 and hope the coming year is kinder to those close to us.0

Wishing you all a good new year . I hope things are ok SM with your mum and that your dad has recovered from his sore ribs .
I'm still struggling with sleep problems so I hope everyone here is managing better . It's really cold here this morning and it seems colder weather is on the way . Stay warm all .
DD is at the hospital this afternoon to be assessed for surgery which if it is decided on means coming off the Methotrexate for a while . It's been a positive year in many ways but also some setbacks .
I'll catch up on you all in the next day or two .
Much love

There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
Nice to see you post Polly, I've been sleeping badly too and will be very glad when life gets back to the usual routine. I liked the festive period much better when we worked to 5.30 on Christmas Eve and life as normal resumed on December the 27th, I find it a strain having the protracted holiday period that now stretches to the 2nd of January I get stressed with it all and end up not enjoying much of it!
Wishing each of you a much better year in 2019 with much positivity, improved health and a much easier path to tread xxx.0 -
Evening (or more likely morning) all. Enjoying some downtime on the other side of the pond now. Have been here almost a week already but it seems like just yesterday we arrived. Hubby and I have succumbed to stinking colds so New Year was welcomed in with heavy duty cold and flu medicine and lots of tissues. I sent a photo to my mother of the assembled cold medicines and paraphernalia and another showing the unopened champagne bottle in the fridge. She was highly amused- I have to say as a bit of an anti technical person she has embraced "whatsapp" wholeheartedly and delights in sending and receiving photos.
Dad is feeling much better and his ribs are healing. I'm hoping he will actually do less while we are away. Sometimes I think he feels the need to prove he can manage whereas when hubby and I are gone there is no need for the pretence.
May seem a bit odd but we are having a Costco trip tomorrow. We need to stock up on kitchen rolls and loo rolls so it's just easiest. Should give us enough stock for the next few trips to the house. I'm also hoping to get some Ziplock bags as they have vanished back home and the Bacofoil replacements just aren't as good.
Will drop in again towards the weekend to see how everyone is.0 -
Glad you made it over there SM hope your colds are a thing of the past but with all the stress you've been under I think your immunity and resistance to germs diminishes and leaves you open to really bad doses of whatever bug is doing the rounds. Take some time for both of you just to 'be' and recharge those batteries to be able to come back fighting fit! enjoy some time out M'dear xxx.0

Hope you feel better soon SM.
Another one poorly one here, had a nasty UTI come on over last weekend and only just starting to feel more like myself after 4 days of antibiotics, never had one before and can’t say would like another, horrible.
Not much else happening really, a combination of Christmas and then feeling rough has meant that Lu has had a fair few days off but it won’t do her any harm, in fact I always gave Bill a month off during January so seems only right she has a rest too.
Right, off to sort my cookbooks out, there are a fair few on the shelf that I never use so time to streamline it a tad.
Love to all x0 -
Hope you are feeling a lot better Lainey. UTI's are miserable and tend to recur for some people so fingers crossed that's not you.
I'm a good bit better, streaming nose has stopped but the cough is lingering so I go nowhere without a water bottle. Not very ladylike but it's the only option.
We are off to the theatre tonight so I hope I'm allowed to take my bottle otherwise I'll be buying one as soon as we are in. Sometimes I think the fear of having a coughing for us enough to set me off.
Making the most of the break away and not doing too much as there will be plenty to catch up on when we get home.0 -
Much better thanks SM, the doctor did raise his eyebrows when I said that I had never had a UTI before, will be keeping everything crossed that it doesn’t reoccur as it was very painful.
Hope you enjoy the theatre and dont cough too much, there are certainly some nasty bugs doing the rounds at the moment so take care x0
