Glad to hear that Mr Ta had a better night, I know those patches worked well for Mum. Hope you enjoy the film.
Had a phone call from eldest niece yesterday evening to say they wanted to do another op on her Mum as there was a leak from the original surgery, all very worrying and waiting to hear more.
Will go and see Lu soon before it gets too hot, will keep my mind off things and she is really good at cuddles....well she tolerates them :o

We'll get there eventually POLLY, we're not in any kind of hurry and sooner or later it will all happen xxx.
  • I am so out of love with removals firms, these days they get you to tell them online what you want moved and then they give you a quote for the estimated size of van to use, all fair and good BUT along with your furniture and odds and ends they want to know how many boxes you have and how many of them are china, books, general stuff the even want to know how many pot plants and table lamps you will have! How on earth do I tell them how many boxes when we are still using things and wearing the clothes we own, how can I tell them how many kitchen boxes if I don't know how big the boxes are going to be and what will fit in what? They won't give a quote until we tell them how many boxes and that's impossible to answer.....AAAAAGGHHHHHHHH!!!

Mrs LW when we paid to move DS2's stuff from our house to Oxford, one of our local removal firms came in & looked at what was going (a lot still in situ in our/his attic bedroom) nefore sending us their quote. Do you have anyone that would come out & do that?

  • Well after my shower this morning I put on fresh PJs and that is what I have worn all day.

I have washed and ironed, put the Shark around downstairs and cleaned the bathroom. We have just had some chicken and bacon tortollini and I hardly ate any of it. I have no appetite at all in this hot weather, although Himself managed to eat his.

We must go out tomorrow though, I have a few bits which need to be attended to, but it will be early whilst it is still cool.

Evidently our children break up tomorrow for the summer. Now that our DGC are all grown up I lose track of school holidays, I now have to ask my Sister, her grandchildren are much younger than ours.

I keep filling the bird bath up with water, but it dries up so quickly, I feel sorry for the poor birds. I had a small punnet of blackberries in the fridge which I had forgotten about and were past their best so I put those out for the birds as well.

Our younger daughter is 46 on Thursday and our elder DD will be 50 in September, how did that happen? I was far from being a child bride, so what does that make me (29 in my head)

TA I hope you managed to get to the cinema and had a nice meal afterwards. Did Mr TA manage to surprise you and was able to have his supplement drink for lunch?

Lainey I hope you were able to see your SIL this afternoon, it must be a very worrying time for you all.

Lyn, I think, regarding the boxes, think of a number and double it. Can you not speak to a real person and ask for some friendly advice. It is all very well filling out forms on line but everything has to be so precise.

My wish for you all tonight is that everything will be a little cooler and we all manage some sleep. It is weeks and weeks since we slept under the duvet xx

Have you tried Pickfords Lyn ? They moved eldest dds furniture and everything else to different parts of Europe over the years , then Scotland 3 times , Eire once and Yorkshire 4 . She never had a problem . They weren't cheap but were reliable and professional loading boxes and shipping containers for Ireland and Amsterdam . No damage but they did wrap every tiny tea light one at a time in layers of tissue paper to my amusement .

There but for fortune go you and I.
  • We had one firm round and they gave us a sensible quote and agreed they could do the 29th but we couldn't book them until we'd all signed contracts so now they're very booked up and not sure they CAN do the 29th.....and still our purchaser hasn't signed the contract.....bless her! Actually Pickfords might be a good idea, thanks Polly, bless you too (but differently!) xxx.

Unfortunately not Candlelight, the procedure went as well as possible but my DSIL didn’t feel up to visitors today, we hope to go either tomorrow or Thursday. I spoke to my niece and she said her Mum was feeling very down about it all.

  • I'm sorry Lainey, poor girl she must be feeling very low. It isn't surprising after 2 ops, and yet to find out what treatment she faces.

I send my good wishes for a speedy recovery xx
