Oh dearest Candlelight you're back where you belong . You have been sorely missed so much I wonder if we have managed to summon you back here by wishing and hoping .
It's good to read Himself is as well as he can be . I knew you would feel the difference once you had the op . Can you see to thread a needle now and pluck your eyebrows ? I remember us discussing that on the other thread . I reckon between us all we've surrounded the earth many times with candles . For my recent birthday I was given a bunch of lavender candles so life goes on as usual .
Things are busy re dd but big things have happened and things are looking much more positive . At this rate I have hope her life will be different .
I shall sleep happy tonight . I wonder if you realise how much we missed you and how loved you are .
We don't talk about the heat ! Mystic Meg here mentioned the summer of 76 a while ago and am now like marmite either loved or hated .
Sleep well
Love polly & k xxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

TA I've been meaning to post over on the daily . I was so sorry to read about your husband . I've not been on that thread for a long time , I was the one who could never keep up . I have thought of you both as we had the shared Liverpool Royal history .
I don't know the details around Mr TAs eating difficulties but if he is able to manage anything other than the food replacement drinks there is a book by Rita Greer .Off the top of my head it's called Soft Food . We used it when a family member had Cancer and was struggling to swallow or chew . There are lots of recipes , good nutritional guidance and ways to adapt .
I found it on Amazon . I had bought some of her books years ago as she knows her nutrition . The most recent edition is the one I bought I can't remember the year published sorry .
Wishing you well , you've had a hard and worrying time over the past few years .

TA I'm not sure if you saw my post earlier . The book I mentioned is " The Soft Diet " by Rita Greer . The Oct 2016 is the most recent version . We found it helpful as relative had problems swallowing .
We bought from an Amazon seller Book Depository who are very good and cheaper than Amazon . They deliver Royal Mail and as it's small should go through your letterbox .
I've just checked and they have it new £9. 24 including delivery . It may not be what you need but thought I'd mention it .
Take care

POLLY thank you so much for telling me about the book. I shall certainly look into it and try and suss out whether it would be of help to us. We have an appointment with the GP this morning as a follow up from last week's Gastroscopy/Endoscopy so we will see where we go from here! So much food that I think he will be able to digest ends up in the bin as he simply can't eat it. These last few months watching the weight drop off him have been soul destroying. Of course this has resulted in muscle loss as well and this has resulted in his Neuropathy escalating and has affected his mobility badly. It can be a cruel life can't it? Thank you for caring Polly xx
ps now I have found you all on here I shall keep popping on if that's ok?"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good morning you lovely people (friends), thank you so much for the welcome back, you make me feel very loved.
Polly, yes I can pluck my eyebrows and thread a needle. Not life changing, but makes my life a little easier. What worried me more was that I have to sort Himself's many tablets into daily boxes, and I was frightened I might double up on one of them with serious consequences.
Lyn and Lainey thank you so much for your lovely words, it is nice to be missed.
TA, how lovely to see you here, and I really hope the GP is able to offer some positive help. I worry about you both, 3 stone is an enormous amount of weight to lose in such a short time, together with DHs other serious health issues, and I can only imagine how you feel watching this happen. I know you have tried everything possible to build him up to no avail, fingers crossed for your appointment later today.
I am not sure what we are doing today, the weather is gorgeous but Himself finds it very draining, and by the afternoon is fit for nothing. We are told people with heart conditions and other serious illnesses should conserve their energy, so I keep a close eye on him.
Have a good day all , much love xx0 -
Everyone should have a little candlelight in their day, it makes the world a much nicer place!
That Zebra will be 5 in January, I can't believe it myself and he's got his school uniform and been in with his daddy for a taster day to meet his teacher and school classmates. Blink and you miss it eh?
Very hot already here and as usual wall to wall blue sky and hayfields where the lawns were once. We've taken to sitting the heat out indoors and going for a decent walk in the evenings when it cools down, it's the only way we get any exercise and it's driving me insane! We should have exchanged contracts on Friday to enable us to book the removals van for definite but our purchaser at 4.30 rang to say she hadn't signed the contract because there were two outstanding questions from her solicitor that hadn't been answered...since May would you believe? We contacted our solicitor who said they'd e.mailed them to us but we haven't received the e.mail. Why has no one realised this until now? and when we checked the answers are and have been in the home pack since we sent that back in May! Calm down MrsL! so we await developments today and are having to get other quotes from removals firms because the one we wanted to use is very busy at the end of August. I'm trying to be charitable but finding it VERY difficult this morning, talk about pathetic.....OK no don't !0 -
TA I hope todays appt will be helpful . It's heartbreaking to see the weight drop off and lack of muscle strength . As you say that impacts on mobility and other areas .
Take comfort he is still with you after all the years of sleepless nights and endless worry .I'm glad you no longer have those long treks to the Royal and hotel nights . I used to think of you both on those early start days knowing you'd both be exhausted by the time you got there .
You're more than welcome to join us whenever you wish . Each of us has found support and understanding here during sad and worrying times . I'm reminded of Lyn's little Orley and how we hoped an prayed for a positive outcome . Now poor Oma is run ragged by both Orley and his big brother .
Candlelight Very wise to not go out until later in the day . Public health England have had a warning for a few weeks for the very young , elderly and ill to take care .
I really hate horseflies too Lainey . I was bitten by one years ago and it's horrible . I was also bitten by a donkey whilst heavily pregnant . The darn thing had my hand in its huge yellow teeth and would not open it's mouth . The rangers tried forcing its jaws open and had to send for a bucket of carrots . A summer trip to a nature reserve ended in A&E with 2 eldest daughters in hysterics and son asking were they going to cut my hand off and would they let him watch . Injections and midwives and home . I had to see my own doctor afterwards and she asked if I felt ok when I said yes she then burst out laughing and said " Only you !!! "
School uniform Lyn ? Where is the time going ? Sorry you've had another hitch in the house move plans . Can nobody actually do the job they're paid for these days ? It must be so annoying to have to start again with removal firms .
Rained again last night but sun is out now . No need to go out today so will do some of the dreaded housework . Henry is smiling hopefully in my direction so I guess I'll take him for a walk through the bedrooms .

Candlelight I forgot to say if you do have problems with the meds the pharmacy can sort them all each month into a large dossett box . I can't tell if the op meant it isn't a problem or not .

Ouch Polly re the donkey bite, very unusual as they are usually the most gentle of creatures. One of the lovely girls at the yard showed me a picture of the big bite mark one of the other liveries had inflicted on her shoulder, she was wearing a vest top and he just got a chunk of flesh in his teeth and bit down hard
Unfortunately some horses use their teeth as a weapon, Iuckily for me neither darling old Bill or my lovely Lu were this way inclined but your can’t help but wonder what’s in some horses past to make them behave that way..0 -
I think it just took against me for some reason Lainey . The rangers had told the children it was a lovely donkey that loves it's nose stroked .
I wasn't planning to join in but the children were urging me on . Next thing I was trapped . I've often wondered if something triggered it , I have the same hair colouring as my offspring . In fact eldest and youngest dds are mini mes . When my doctor stopped laughing she wondered about pheramones ( that doesn't look right ) and whether being pregnant had triggered the reaction . I'll never know .
