The railway system is so badly run it took DD1 more than two hours to get from Gloucester to Bristol last night and the train was sent via Wales! When you compare it to the efficiency that is the continent (exception being perhaps the channel tunnel) it makes for some pondering!0

Help please!
MrD has come off his bike and fractured his jaw
He has to have a liquid diet for six weeks.
I'm making him fruit smoothies for breakfast and am able to liquidize his main meals - the problem is volume.
By the time I've added enough gravy or sauce to the meal to make it go through a straw the amount is huge. He feels as though his insides are swimming
I've bought large diameter straws from Amazon which are helping (and some Ensure and Complan ……. other food supplements are available :rotfl:)
Any ideas would be really helpful. Thanks everyoneNot dim.....just living in soft focus

Doveling, Why not try giving him it little and often It may feel less then.0

Could he manage soft boiled eggs, chopped up like for babies?0

Thanks NurseMaggie
I did little and often for the first few days whilst the swelling was there.
The trouble is he is at work, albeit shorter hours. They have been paying for taxis for him this week as he doesn't feel up to driving.
(The consultant just said go with how he feels about work.)
So, I need high density calorific as Mr D. is very fit with a high metabolic rate.
Thanks againNot dim.....just living in soft focus

If he likes them give him the supplements to take to work. He will get used to it. There is not really a way to give him a lot of calories without him drinking a lot. I could have something like Ov*ltine or Mil* they have plenty of calories made with whole milk.0

Sending get well wishes, hugs, extra energy and perhaps a little sanity for all those in need,..
I have noticed that it's got very quiet in here, hoping everyone is just busy and haven't 'abandoned ship', I would miss this thread terribly if it disappeared.
Have overdone it again today, pushed my body a little too far and am paying for it this evening, by tomorrow I'll really know about it, hey ho.. I'm not giving in, shall just take a slower pace for the next couple of days before going back to work.
Wishing everyone a peaceful, productive week;)"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇0
