Monna Reading those words has brought a lump to my throat . I remember the early days when you couldn't bear to speak to us here as the hurt was too deep for words .

A quick question for you lovely ladies - How do you make plum jam? I have got a large bag full of plums, far too many for myself and my neighbours to eat so I have decided to make jam. My main query is when weighing the plums should the stones be in or out? Also, when the jam has cooked, should I try and remove all the skins? I know you lovely lot will keep me right!
Back to de-stoning!
I like to add cinnamon to mine makes a nice change. I use 10g cinnamon powder to 1kg stoned plums xx0 -

Camelot - I weigh with stones and skim the stones out with a slotted spoon after the sugar has been added. Saves a messy job! The recipe I use is from the old Dairy Cookbook. 3lb Plums, 3/4pint water and 3lb sugar - always comes out well.
Monna - I was trying to get over to Bembridge this weekend but no joy - so pleased that your spirits are lifting and that awful black cloud is dissipating - Hugs.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Pleased to hear that Monna
Burtha well done on reclaiming your space and beginning the process of rebuilding a much better life for you and the kids'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0
