Well Litha that looks like a unanimous approval. Its my favourite colour. Absolutely Fabulous.

The rain did come back and it's quite cool now. I went out for some milk, to Mr M this time as the corner shop just does not keep. I said the cashier I think I have bought tea three times. It turned out to be four. One meal is for two so that makes five, I only ate half of the one I did not put in the freezer so that makes six. I'll have to stop going out late for milk.

I pored a litre of milk down the sink I hate doing that.

Go for it SS. Life is too short not to do anything (reasonably legal) that you fancy!

I might just have to. I'm feeling pretty gung ho recently. I'm not sure why but I have a sense recently that life needs to be grabbed firmly by the danglys. I'm also contemplating a large tattoo. I prefer to think I'm in my teenage phase rather than midlife crisis.:rotfl:

Nursemaggie, I used to like the streak, but it spread considerably and looks less streaky and more dipped :rotfl:

VJsmum, I'd look better with some makeup, but try as I might I seem allergic to it, regardless of brand. Latest one, dusty girls from the moogoo folk, I can just about get away with some, but my nose still runs a bit!

I'm sorry your OH is still in Csarina. Having seen what walks into our emergency room here though, there's plenty of very much not urgent clogging it up. Stubbed toes, constipation, lightly twisted ankles. If half the patients had a few glasses of water and waited they wouldn't have needed the emergency room. Then you get the poor folks who watched the "don't go to A&E unless it's an emergency" advert, and took it too seriously.... coming from a gp with a broken bone having waited for an appointment there. It's hard to balance.

Hester, I'd have given him something too. You can't guarantee what people will do with whatever you give them, but it's symbolic of kindness and that's what he needed the most.

As regards skin tone, people are currently saying I look tanned. I've barely seen daylight, but what has actually happened is I'm not as ill or deathly pale to the point of transparent as I used to be!

Oh Litha, your hair is wonderful :T I can't decide whether I like it better straight or curly though, both ways are great. I think many of us here would donate a small organ to get hair like that :rotfl:

Oh Litha, your hair is amazing!
Welcome back VJsmum. Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
Hi Softstuff. You are right about hosp users. Seen it myself. Some turning in for ridiculously minor stuff and others toughing it out at home for too long. Doh.

Well I should be in bed asleep but I have been researching things to do on our forthcoming trip to the Alps! Ages since we were in that region and we are so looking forward to it. We have booked 10 days but I really wish it was 2 weeks, there is so much to see and do. Greedy, I know.

This last 9 months has been full of major family commitments and happenings, not all good. Our trips away have all been with / to family, in the role of helpers, so they have not been for our r & r, iykwim;). The planned trip in Sept is to stay at a decent hotel, halfboard, and do lots of walking and some short excursions by train and boat :) .

If all goes according to my pension plan I should be able to take a lump sum in 5 years 2 months' time. I am spend it in advance
No tatoos for me, but life is indeed for living and having spent the last few months worrying about the very poor health of my in laws, and losing my dad in January, it certainly makes you realise that time marches on and, as Softstuff so eloquently put it, we need to grab life by the danglies:rotfl:

    'Night All x
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

    Morning all,

    I also love Litha's hair!

When he was in hospital recently dad moved wards several times. Sometimes it was because they had discovered more about his issues (ICU vs. Stroke Wards) and several others it was because they needed to reshuffle beds. Dad is positive for MRSA and for some reason they didn't attempt to decolonise this time which complicates it. I think sometimes other people probably had to move for him so he wouldn't infect others (although he himself isn't infected, just a carrier).

We had a nice day in York yesterday-- we went back to the Minster as last time they were still working on the East Window and we also visited the Cold War bunker. It was very crowded in the town centre between a graduation (no sure which Uni) and the races. We took sandwiches that we had in the garden of the Treasurers house and then came home for chicken burgers for tea.

Today will involve laundry (first time this summer it will have to go in the TD :( ) and a bit of planning for another trip.We have a long list of short trips to do so it is just deciding which one is next.

I'm not sure what is for tea tonight, probably roast veggies and spaghetti if one of us goes to the gym and picks up courgettes since there weren't any at Aldi.

It is raining here, slow and steady which is definitely what the plants need. Even with it forecast to last all day I suspect it won't be enough to avoid the hosepipe ban starting in a couple of weeks.

Hugs to all who need them.

Have just had a read and a catch up, all I can say on Litha’s hair is wow, that colour is amazing, both straight and wavy it looks stunning. My hair is very thick so I tend to keep it fairly short, it’s going grey which I do colour from time to time when it really starts to get on my nerves!
Much cooler here today, have just been out to top up the bird feeders and the cold wind was fair whipping round my legs, might be making soup for the first time in ages :D

    Autumn here too.
Great hair Litha. I'm another one who doesn't want a tattoo but does want to grab life by the danglies.

Glad you had a great day in York yesterday FPK. Bad vibes required though please for the pond life who randomly assaulted my DS on his way to work in the city yesterday morning. Fortunately he's ok.

Lovely hair colour, Litha but I bet you have to keep topping it up - I have bits of purple and blue in mine and it fades over a few weeks. Do you have colour on hand to touch up the roots?

I have received some advice on how to heal my stressed out gut from a wise and learned friend on the Dark Side of the Fence. Boiled rice and stewed apple for me today.
