  • Even better they've quoted us a most acceptable price for the beautiful table and 4 kitchen chairs and the large sofa in the lounge. They will take the matching armchair with them but if it doesn't fit we'll have first refusal on it which is super. If it doesn't return here we'll buy a two seater sofa, possibly a sofa bed and a big comfy armchair in very soft grey to go at the fireplace end with a coffee table in the centre of a square arrangement and the far end will be my reading area with oak book cases and the two new poang armchairs and footstools we've bought from Ikea. Should be a nice comfortable room to live in.

    Evening all ( Dixon here :D )
I have been back to Dad's today and the pills from the Dr must be nothing short of miraclulous . It appears he is no longer " at deaths door " but he was cleaning his cooker top, worktop etc. He wanted me to pull his cooker out but I said I wasn't dressed for work and besides which it would be too heavy, especially as I still have one wrist strapped up, but I don't think he noticed that. So I put my foot down with a firm hand :rotfl:. I expect he will be as nice as pie for a while.......... until the next time. How my mother put up with him for 60 years is a complete mystery to me.
LW thank you for the picture. That's me to a tee ! Long flowing locks, slender legs and a sleek exterior........ Oh I wish, I'm more short fat and hairy :rotfl:.

On the husky point my DD and family went to Lapland a couple of years ago and they took a sled ride pulled by Huskies. My Sil was "driving" lost control and it tipped both DGC out, but my DD was trapped by her arm. According to DGS who was about 5 or 6 at that time, a lady in a white cloak came and got her out. When questioned as to who the lady was he replied " nanny balloon ". The name he always called my mother, who had already passed away before the holiday. Made me wonder if it was her and she was keeping an eye out for them.

MrsLW good news on the moving front, rather you than me though. I would have to get rid of half a house before I started to pack :D BTW I applaud the way you conduct yourself on another thread, I don't think I could be that restrained ( prep for Brex )
    Fudddle well done you.
Apologies as there were some others I wanted to reply to, but I've forgotten who they were ( brain fog again :o. )

So I shall send healing thoughts to the poorly and hugs to all tonight. Thank you to all for your kindness and support.
    nan xx

Court case Hester. The whole concept, especially as a witness, sounds stressful

It was 'Hester' & 'innocent' in the same post that got me!:p

Sorry I did not wish your DSiL all the best for her operation. I hope everything went smoothly and wish her a speedy recovery.

Just after I posted this morning Virgin phoned me trying to get me to change my mind about canceling my contract. I told the girl I would not change my mind and I did not want to discuss it further.

Only 2 minutes later someone else phoned to persuade me change my mind. I told her the same and put the phone down. I turned back to my computer and I was off line. I called them back and someone put it back on again but she said I may have to wait 24 hours before I go it aback.

I went and got ready and went into town for my eyes testing. I don't need any new glasses so that's a saving. I then thought I'll go see DS. His flat is like the tropical house at oh I can't think what it is called the thing in Cornwall with all the domes.

He was telling me at 3.45am when he was just going to work yesterday morning he saw a deer outside his flat. He said when it saw him it ran away very fast. We are amazed it came all the way into the town centre, though it is straight down the road past him from winter hill so it could have run away from the fires they are not yet totally out.

I suppose you want that in the menagerie too.

Fuddle it looks like an ill wind brought you good after all. If you intend staying there for life his is a lot older than you so he may not last long. Bullies like Mr PS don't usually live to a ripe old age because they cause they cause themselves too much stress.

    Don't over do it Monna.

I got back about 7pm and my brother phoned just after. I have not had my tea yet. It's a good job it will only take a few minutes to put together just some salad.

Hope everything goes to plan Lyn. The sooner the better now.

If we need an Oozlum bird in our menagerie I'll volunteer, some days I feel like I could disappear up my own backside.
I'm dealing with stuff caused by someone who is not the shinyest penny in the fountain.
I'm having problems trying not to throttle said penny. Especially as the penny thinks they are a genius.
Obviously I'm not talking about CHS, he is not stupid.
    Chin up, Titus out.
