  • FUDS there were people watching your back while it was happening, your obnoxious neighbours can say what they like but you have many people who saw the incident, indeed were watching out for YOU because they know the track record of the PS family and would undoubtedly be able to tell the truth of the matter if the untrue version was being bandied about. None of this is of your making, you're the innocent victim of some one else's spite, it's a manufactured situation and you've done nothing wrong in any way, all you do is live a quiet life with your family and the PS family collectively are KNOWN in the area. You hold that head up love, you have the moral high ground!!!

Just remembered something important I need to say which I learned yesterday.

In this weather many of us are looking to buy an electric fan if we don't already have one.
I learned yesterday that the Dyson fans which suck in warm air and blow out cold air are not advised for people with a pacemaker because the fans use a magnetic system.

It is mentioned in the instruction manual, but not everyone bothers to read the manual.

Just catching up. So sorry to read of your loss Islandmaid.
Fuddle - so glad for you that other people heard PS and were prepared to come to your aid as it seems many locals are aware of this toxic family and will defend you.
MTSM - I feel for you with nasty neighbours - we've had issues in the past too and it does blight your enjoyment of your home. I was very glad to have made a copy of our documents when we bought our house. Originally there was a stream running the whole length on the north side and years before it had been piped by the local authority. One of our neighbours who backed on to this decided that the resulting ground was 'no man's land' until I produced a document stating we were responsible for clearing and keeping the ditch in a good state. He was also a bit miffed to find out the fence at the bottom of his garden was his responsibility & not ours. Luckily fences have been mended (pun intended!) we've all been here over 40 years now and are on good terms.
I'd like an Alpaca too please, lovely long eyelashes and she could keep the camel company although I hope Dillys will behave herself and not think they're her snack lunch, although I expect the unicorn will keep the peace and tranquility ;)
Last Thursday my practice nurse changed my inhaler as my breathing wasn't improving very much. WOW what a difference!!! On Saturday night we went to a BBQ and I was up dancing, Sunday I took the boat out for a couple of hours.and yesterday I blitzed the bathrooms, kitchen & utility, picked, blanched and and froze green beans and tackled half of the pile of mending and alterations oh and I also cut down the loganberry canes as they have come to the end! Think I've got my mojo back!
Do hope everyone has a good, perhaps cooler day

Hands off my camel. Humph is very happy in my mini desert. He is a bit bemused by the weeds, which are about 6 feet high, but seems to have adapted well to dried up jungle. Once a day I take him down to the beach where he can frolic on the sand and if you've never seen a frolicking camel you haven't lived. He says he has never seen such a huge oasis.

It looks as though the unbearable heat is set to continue. It was a bit cooler last night and quite a pleasure to get into bed and sleep comfortably.
Shanks, I think we ought to get together and share our sweat glands more equally.

Fuddle, I hope you are feeling better now that you know that you are not alone. Your neighbours are with you and NOT with P.S..

Today I must try to complete the cleaning fest I started yesterday, and before it gets too hot. I will probably be back later.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Have trouble remembering how to fly.

    Morning all

Does no-one else in this house do the washing, except for me??? (that would be a no) I could leave it for them to do - they are quite capable, but OH just bungs everything in together, DS will separate whites and colours but will do a full wash with just his three white t shirts, DD would run a wash just of her stuff. One day, i will go on strike and just do everything for me - laundry, cooking, washing up..

In fact, next week i am going to visit a friend in France, they will all be fine - but the minute i come back, i will be ... expected isn't the right word... it will be assumed that i will pick everything up again (literally and figuratively). I guess I was just like that so want to say right now.. 'sorry, mum' :rotfl: (except i wasn't really, my mum was ill when i was a teenager so I had to do more than most teens - i think that's rubbed off. I am used to doing it and don't really want mine to have to do as much as i did...).

    And breathe

Today is DD's birthday. She has gone off to London to meet her friend for the day and they are going to a show this afternoon. we haven't done pressies and things yet as she went out quite early and her brother is still in bed, she didn't want to get him up for quick pressie unwrapping. we may go out for a curry later if she is back, but if she decides to eat with friend and come home quite late then we will go tomorrow. I have the delightful task of cleaning the bathrooms (see above) - still, i feel better than I did 22 years ago, laying there feeling very sore and thinking 'what the hell happened there???' (hers was quite a difficult birth and i now know that i suffered from PTSD for a little while after :( )

And on that note, I shall continue fiddling with spreadsheets - I know how to live :)
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Softstuff I love alpacas too. I don't think FurryBeastOz lives in Oz - she had a beautiful dog named Oz, now sadly no longer with us, and chose him for her username.

No problem. :D Wouldn!!!8217;t mind a visit over there though. Although, with my reaction to the weather this summer I!!!8217;d have to time it very carefully. Lobster is not a good look on me, and that!!!8217;s with factor 50.

SilvaSaver - I'm afraid I'm never going to be on good terms with the two neighbours concerned. The rift is that deep. I came to realise that what "pillar of the (local) community" was doing amounted to a form of emotional blackmail. Very early on they made it plain that my choice was:
    - Do things my way and I'll "smooth the path for you" with the "locals" in the area
    or
    - Do things the normal/logical etc way - and I will do the exact opposite and blacken your name in every way I can.

I realised that amounted to blackmail and we're all told what to do about blackmailers aren't we:cool:

By now I can see that one nearby house has changed hands (they were a decent household/have moved for a very logical and expected-by-me reason). Another nearby house will very soon be on the market (for logical reasons). The awful next door neighbours house should soon be on the market (ditto - logical reasons). Which leaves precisely one house where I don't know what's what (one of the two "Awkwards") and I can see that it would be very logical for them to move (the house is way too big for them and they arent getting any younger). All round things are being "thrown up in the air" over the next couple of years I should say and I'm waiting to see what way the cookie crumbles. IF I'm still living here (as finances currently logically dictate) there will be all new neighbours one way or the other (apart, possibly, from the other Awkward household and I know their circumstances dictate it would be very logical for them to move - if they have the chance to).

So - I could either get a total new set of neighbours over the next couple of years and who knows? I'm holding hopes for a nice unattached man from my agegroup/my area/handy with DIY:) to be one of them OR there is a (currently vague) possibility of moving back to my own area (which I would do if I can).

Either way - things should improve:)
