I'm quite envious of fuddle going to Harrogate. I have not been for years. long time since we lived in York. I don't suppose trains stop there any more.

monna I think your best bet for not losing your post is write it somewhere else then copy and paste. Do you know how to do that?

Last night, by the way, is mostly my worry that I am going insane. Why am I hearing the sounds of someone being there when it is obvious no one can be with the amount of work going on. It piles up and piles up. No one but me actually complains they just treat my part of the block to blame everything on. I do know I get viewed as a refugee but to them refugee is a dirty word.

Realising the noise horror may be over but short of going and knocking on the door I can never find out does not really help. The housing association don't ever admit they are there.

Last night I was shaking uncontrollably. The answer to getting away is to move but as the housing association keep removing my bids that is impossible. There is another flat going in Jubilee House, right next door to DS. My bid has been taken off twice. DS wants me to live there it's easier to keep his eye on me.

Just a thought nm, have you tried Citizen's Advice. They can often get further with officialdom than us prols.

I find doing fancy things like cut and paste not so easy on the tablet.

Fuddle the Valley Gardens are lovely to sit & chat or wander admiring around the flower beds. Harlow Carr is a little way outside the town, its the only RHS northern England garden (until they get the one in Manchester open) and has fruit & veg bits as well as gardeny bits so great for ideas or thoughts for your plot. The Stray is a large open area a bit like Town Moor in Newcastle. Be warned, it is a spa town so you can "take the waters" but it is an acquired taste that I haven't yet got after trying it for about 45 years!

Oh poor monna, what a horrible day! May today be much better. I have a smartphone but I have never been brave enough to try using any apps, and the screen is rather small anyway.
I don't understand why you keep losing your posts - other people sometimes say the same about theirs, yet in all the years I've been on MSE I've lost only one, and that was due to a problem with the forum. It's weird.

NM You are not going insane, lovey. You have been under tremendous stress from all the noise, and the difficulties you encounter when you try to move away, and it's bound to have ill-effects. Is there any point seeing your GP?
Yes, as Hester says, you can email your MP, in fact you might just as well, since all letters sent to MPs at the Houses of Parliament are scanned onto the system and sent to the MPs by email in any case (I know because two former colleagues went on to work in the department that dealt with MPs' correspondence).
Otherwise, could you write down everything you need to say, and go to see the MP at their local surgery? In fact that might be better/faster.

A rocky start to the day here for Mr ivyleaf - he rolled over in bed and fell off the edge of the mattress, banging his eye on the corner of the bedside cabinet and gaining a carpet burn on his knee! I put some arnica around his eye but I expect he'll have a shiner.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Oh, I like that! In fact, as gamers, very often, if things go belly-up, Mr LW and I ask if we can "go back to the last Save".:rotfl:
NM you should be able to email your MP..
That is correct. There's a website called, if memory serves, They Work For You which lists all the current serving MPs and stuff about them; find your own MP on the list, click on their name, and it will give loads of info, including their website. Go to that, and you will be able to contact them electronically.

Ivyleaf I hope Mr Ivyleaf is ok; Mr LW has fallen out of bed a few times, it's very worrying when they do that, isn't it?

We have Blokey in cutting the back hedge today. When I say hedge - it's an ancient one, tree height, towering over our 6-foot fence at the back; so we can't possibly do it ourselves. So we have this chap in to tidy it up and cut back the growth that is overhanging the garden every two years, We're not allowed to reduce the height of it (which is fine, I wouldn't want to) but we are allowed to cut back the outward growth, which overshadows the garden and makes it chilly and damp if left.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Sorry to hear Mr ivyleaf fell out of bet. I sometimes do that. I have pushed my bedside table as far back as I can. At the moment I'm OK I have two spare pillows on the floor next to my bed. They're waiting for me to put them in one of those shrinking bags. I never hurt myself as I am perfectly relaxed when asleep. It does wake me up with a jump.

I have been back on the site for bids this morning. I put my bid in OK for Jubilee House. There is also another bungalow, it's within walking distance to DS's and town too. It's also very close to a bus route.

I chased the bus backward all the way to town trying to get the number only to find it was not in service.

Morning All - internet down here all yesterday and last night so just catching up.
NM - I can only reiterate what others have said. You have been under enormous stress for months and its leaving its mark. I'm concerned as you seem to have no support available other than your son and I know you dont want to burden him. Please gather what energy you have and contact your MP.
Monna - what a shame we cant 'control, alt, delete' some days - hope you have a better day today and enjoy some sunshine.
Fuddle - Harrogate! only driven through with some friends on our way to York - I would have loved to stop for a look see. Enjoy your time with DH.
Not much improvement in the breathing yet - but I'm hopeful - I'm not a patient patient!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I'm not reluctant to have support from DS more a case of he does not want the responsibility unless I live next door. I think he counts the walk here and back as wasted time, but seeing he is on a health kick at the moment it isn't. I have to admit the hospital don't think I should be traveling alone but if I find it boring he will find it a lot more boring. He can at least read on his phone or his tablet.

It is a bit much to expect him to keep having to change his day off every week. Especially on the week he has with only one. It's well past his bedtime when I get back. They are all on a fixed 3 week rota but they can swap with someone else as long as they don't mind. They're all very happy with it and there line manager has got rid of the job he hate. When DS suggested it he jumped at it. I knew he hated the rota because he kept leaving it to the last minute.

Couldn't agree more, mar. I can usually ride problems fairly philosophically, but I dont do hot weather very well, I tend to seek out dark places to hide in.
This morning I did my shopping early. Our village shop really is open all hours. Starts at 7am and closes roundabout 11pm. The walk up there this morning was lovely, fresh and just warm enough to be pleasant.

Back indoors now with the curtains drawn to keep the sun out. Part of the garden is in shade in the afternoon so will sit out there with my book.

All you poorly ones, take it easy. Silvasava, its not really like you to be laid up so please get better soon.

Now to see if this post disappears..
