Softstuff, there already one drawn on the van. They are parked in what should be my spot if the unwritten parking/mooring rules were being obeyed, I'm quite happy to park nearby but I think that is why the graffiti was me.

Well I am completely puzzled? They are still working on the flat above so it was all my imagination. I saw a man taking broken floor boards out this morning. That does not surprise me one bit because all of them hit the floor with maximum force.

The man playing with his kids yesterday must be in another part of the building. I can't actually see the entrances from my kitchen window. The boy trying to climb onto the garage roof was worrying me. It's cobbles on one side and the fence on the other. There is a gap big enough for a small boy to fall through.

They have made it quite clear that anything to do with the refugees including informing us that they intend to change this block of flats to refugees only, is none of my business. So why are they blocking my bids and the people who have to assess me are ignoring me. I feel trapped. Perhaps that is why I imagined the sounds from upstairs. I think I must be going mad.

Panda must be an independent college - although undergrad fees are currently £9,250 a year, depending where you live & study.

Yes, it's performing arts and a diploma rather than a degree, which affects funding apparently. Fortunately there are often scholarships to be had if you are good enough.

Meanwhile, oldest boy is looking for a PhD in Space Technology. How is it possible to produce children that are so different from each other? :D

Because they have wonderful parents who let their children develop their own skills and interests and don't shoehorn them into their parents expectations!
Well done Panda and Mr Panda :T:T

Just been catching up with the thread.....

Islandmaid I am disgusted and indignant on your DS's behalf. Mr LW and I have both been through this (mine included some violence as well, but that's another tale) so we both know exactly how the poor man must be feeling.
When he's ready to dust himself off and find someone new, I am certain there will be someone out there for him who will treat him right. x

Lamewolf, I try and get up the hairdressers courage now and again... I have a neighbour who is one and does it from over the road in her home salon in the most non-threatening way possible, but it's a rarity and one I can't pre-book, I just have to go. I used to cut my own when it was shorter and frankly found that easier. It's not the touch factor, since I can get a chair massage easily, so I don't know what causes it. I'm glad you have a protective wolf, kind of like Game of Thrones :)
Ah, I didn't watch Game of Thrones. Well, I watched the first one and a half episodes and realised I simply couldn't stomach it; told Mr LW that if he wanted to see it I'd be eating my dinner in the kitchen when it was on (he selects all our viewing, we record all the programmes, and he chooses what to watch and when, usually at dinner time) and fortunately he decided he'd sooner we eat dinner together and he'd not bother with GoT.:o

As for my hair - Mr LW trims and colours it for me.:A

NM wouldn't it be lovely if your new neighbours were respectful. There's hope at least. Promising start.

Silvasava I just like copying you :p I'm afraid I've been a pest to the NHS again. The pollen has effected my breathing and I too am on steroids.

Good grief nursemaggie, broken floorboards? What on earth? I can't understand why people would behave like that! Nowt so queer as folk! But no wonder the noise was so dreadful!

That reminds me, I've been meaning to tell you all, at the local shops we recently met a lovely elderly lady who had a very pretty multicoloured handbag. When I admired it, she replied, "Oh, I really love this bag - it's so gay, isn't it?"
It was really nice to hear the word used in its original sense :)

I don't think I have any new neighbours. There will be no more work done now it is the weekend. When all that rubbish went I did at first think it was the top floor because it was just the sort of useless rubbish they hoarded. I have not seen them all week.

I can imagine their flat would need gutting. They were perpetually drunk. I think you will understand that fuddle. I don't think I ever saw them without cigarettes in their mouths.

All the windows are are shut. They had windows open all year round and in every room. The window are all still open just above.

I am still hearing people moving around upstairs, but very quietly. I don't expect there to be no sounds it is not possible in flats that have had no soundproofing.

I rang the bin department this afternoon and reported the 6 recycle bins missing. There are locks on the big ones for other parts of the building. I'm stuck with the recycling from the last week. They could be two or three weeks before they are replaced.

It can't be my imagination I can definitely hearing sounds from above. They must be still here. Someone finally must have told them what it sounds like down here.

I have been given the runaround by every department at the council and the Housing Association. The department I have to go through to get sheltered housing does not exist. By the time I got through to a department that does aids and adaptions I could not stop shaking. I have no where left to go but my councilor or MP.

DS promised to come round this afternoon and he forgot. I bought a chicken especially. I have to have a meter reading by Monday and I really need some help with this I can stand there all day trying to turn the key and it does not move at all. I also needed him for other things I can't do.

I just saw the two of them from the top floor going out all dressed up to the nines. Usually they look like tramps. I am very confused!
Time to give up and accept I am a prisoner here until I die.

Oh nursemaggie, I'm so sorry you feel in despair this evening. It's so frustrating and upsetting trying in vain to be put through to someone who can actually help, especially when they don't appear to exist :( And I'm so sorry your DS didn't come.
