When you become a mother you realise you are only ever as happy as your least happy child.

I think I have new neighbours in the fat above. Seen a black man I did not recognise in the garden playing with his kids. I have hear the little pitter-patter of the little ones feet, can barely hear it. I nearly went out and got the bigger ones who maybe 4 or 5. He was on the garage roofs. There are a row of garages next to one of our back roofs. Then I heard his dad expect telling him to get down because he did.

If this family use the dustbins right they are very welcome.

Nursemaggie I would think that any family that doesn't do the fandango on your ceiling at stupid o' clock would be welcome! Fingers crossed for you.

Good luck nursemaggie - fingers crossed these new people are quieter!

Nargle and Islandmaid I laughed out loud about the hefferlump and the putative typo :D

I have the kondo thread bookmarked, so I'll look for it on the board and "bump" it for mar if necessary, though someone else has probably already done it by now.

ETA Ah, it's all right, mar had already found the thread :j

Fingers crossed you have nice neighbours now Nursemaggie.

Your poor son, Islandmaid - definitely sounds like he's had a lucky escape. I hope it doesn't take him too long to see that.

Youngest DD had her end of year performance yesterday and now has two dance exams to work for. I've just discovered that the next college she wants to go to has fees of £12k per year  . She needs to work her butt off to get a scholarship.

For the yoga challenged, if you have the discipline to try at home, the Ekhart yoga site is really good. Esther allows you to be not very good. I think they do a trial month for 1 Euro, and Esther has some videos up on YouTube.

Lamewolf, I try and get up the hairdressers courage now and again... I have a neighbour who is one and does it from over the road in her home salon in the most non-threatening way possible, but it's a rarity and one I can't pre-book, I just have to go. I used to cut my own when it was shorter and frankly found that easier. It's not the touch factor, since I can get a chair massage easily, so I don't know what causes it. I'm glad you have a protective wolf, kind of like Game of Thrones :)

There are a lot of gyms here, but this is an area with a lot of very fit people in it. That in turn makes yoga more.... er... full on I suppose. Definitely not non-competitive!

I hope your cough and asthma ease Silvasava, sending love.

Islandmaid, I know he'll be terribly upset now, but what a lucky escape your DS has just had. Had he married her.... sheesh. I'm not sure what gets into some people when they do this kind of thing. I hope he finds someone more deserving of him now.

Hester, time to add a nice decorative !!!! and balls in the muck :rotfl:

Thank you for the yoga suggestion Panda, will have a look shortly.

We're off to visit hubbys Grandfolks, so may be gone a day or two, love to all xx

    Morning all,

Two blankets washed and a batch of ironing done. I got about 3/4 of the weeds in front pulled yesterday so will try to finish those and start on the back today. We have a lot of paving/small stones at this house and weeds love it. I don't keep up with it but a good session before summer activities start seems in order.

Islandmaid--ouch. A student of mine a couple of years ago experienced something similar. It really threw him ad it was tough not knowing how to help him. He came through it well in the end, but I think that is a particularly vulnerable time for having your heartbroken by someone else's bad behaviour. You don't yet have the life experience to help you put it into context and to know that you can and will still find happiness with someone who at the very least has more scruples.

As for yoga and the gym, I'm probably one of those people who other people think has it all together. The truth is the first time I went to the gym I got thrown off a treadmill. I literally went flying. Months later I had to ask how to turn the cross trainer on. After 16 years of yoga I spend most of the time with my eyes shut. I have nothing but admiration for anyone who gets up and does something active, whatever it is.

Nursemaggie, fingers crossed your new neighbors are very quiet!

I've just seen a couple of gold finches out my window, must mean it is time to get back to chores.
