:eek: Ain't nobody needs to see THAT :rotfl:

Morning all, a quick coffee for me before a shower, then yoga. I was supposed to be doing a voluntary thing all day tomorrow but was feeling so stressed about fitting everything in that I have decided not to - the organisation weren't aware i was going to do it so nothing lost for them.. What's that saying? "You don't have to set yourself on fire to keep other people warm", that's what i was trying to do.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

We actually put in an avodado suite in our first house, complete with chocolate coloured patterned tiles!!
We though it was the bees knees.

Morning Fencers . Monna I think your mention of the plant that cats dislike refers to Scaredy Cat a type of Coleus . It may have worked for others but was a total fail here for visiting cats .

Prickly things are what cats avoid . Blackberries - not thornless - will keep them out as do holly branches and similar . When I trim my hollies back I keep some branches back to protect young plants in the ground .

We get lots of cats coming into the gardens but I've never owned one that used here as a toilet . Sadly that means they're upsetting another gardener .

Fuds I wouldn't encourage a cat at the lottie . It can upset other plot holders mentioning no names !

Nargle Your husband should find the addition of Zomorph a great help . DD has the capsules along with Oramorph and they do help with the pain . She's had the Zomorph increased to 6 a day this week and has had two nights she slept through which is very rare .

I'll be crossing the fingers FPK that your dad comes home .

If the rain comes Monna send it here . Only seen rain twice in the last week and that was brief downpours .

Day 3 this week of appts . Just tomorrow to go and then nothing until Monday .

Hope the vertigo has gone Ivyleaf . Have a good day all and hugs for any in need .

Oh I had a pale blue bathroom when I moved into this new build in 1975 . It was tiled 2/3rds of the way up with 4inch matching tiles . That bathroom and the upstairs dormers convinced me it was my ideal house . I must have been insane ! A few years later bathroom was ripped out and I spent a long time taking all the wall tiles off .
It's now white . Meanwhile the dormer roofs hold the heat in summer and the cold in winter and I would never buy a property with them again .

    polly x.

The good thing about my tenants is that they pay the rent on time, this outweighs the other problems to a degree. Once the draining bath is looked at and the shower sorted my reply to them, via the agent and at the agents suggestion is gonna be a very disinterested shrug, if it is possible to shrug in writing.
I have been advised that the best answer to the slow draining bath is ' yes it's slow, get over it's. It does drain, it just takes an hour instead of minutes.
Hugs Monna re the dentist and to anyone else in need.
I hope Burtha and karcher are both ok.
    Chin up, Titus out.

TD they are on a rolling contract I need only give them 2 months notice, I'm putting the rent up this year so that may make them move anyway.

Apparently cats don't like lemon verbena, so it might make good hedging for the allotment fuddle. Plus you'll have lots of lemon verbena for tea and dried leaves in the house.

Thanks for this greenbelt. I had never heard of lemon verbena so looked it up. It would be a useful plant for me to have actually and as it grows 1.5metres tall it would be well placed at one side of the plot probably the back t'other side of greenhouse ;)

DH is has a fence post he's going to bring home, cut in half and I'll string wire to climb a blackberry. It will be about 5ft tall, so he'll be able to see me but 1)its there and free 2)any higher I might get unwanted attention in terms of complaints and 3)just having the structure there will mean he can't pass.

I am going to have to erect it well within my plot though and not on my boundary. I don't want to give him anything at all where he can feasibly complain about. What a disaster eh? I hate that this has happened.

I have heard whispers that some of the plot holders want him off. I've asked my friend to get my opinion out there. I don't want him off. Everyone is entitled to d, if not need, their plots. I was too much for his norm and he was too much for me. Yes I think I have grounds for thinking he's a spiteful, sly manipulative auld boogar but I can deal with that with what I'm putting in place.
    Morning all,

No new news about dad, they didn't get good enough results so are repeating a test today. Mum thinks that unless something shows up on this they will send him home soon. Fingers crossed!

Hugs to all who need them.x

You known what FPK. I know what a virus or bacteria can do to the lungs and the heart. I'm young-ish, fit-ish, and healthy-ish and it's given me near collapsed lung and definite heart failure. It's frightening how quickly serious stuff can happen. The main thing is that they just can't find anything and your dad has recovered to the point of being well enough for home. If it was serious I am so sure the medical team would have found it. Anything else is cause for optimism, relief and strength I think. It's been a rough time. I look forward to reading your dad is home with his slippered feet up. :)

Me too. When my house was modernised in 1972/1973 Mother opted for a lemon bathroom suite..... it was with us till 2003, not long after the house became mine when the toilet broke and we couldnt replace the part because the bathroom furniture was too old.

How i hated that lemon suite and the mirrored tiles over the bath that Mother loved. Yes you could look at how you looked before you left the house but you could also see yourself sitting on the loo.

Judi it's lovely to have post with us... except now I can see you on the loo! :rotfl: Welcome to the craziness :)

I've made my first bath bath of mint sauce. Normally I just chuck in mint leaves to the cooking juice but I sought a recipe, and found it was so easy and learnt a thing. So much still to learn!

My question to you today is... :D:p:o

How can I preserve mint to use with lamb over the winter months?

Can I just say thanks for all the cat feedback. If cat lovers are suggesting it's not a good idea then it's definitely not a good idea. Much appreciated :)

Fuds I grow lots of different mints . There are a few methods of preserving but freezing is my way . If you chop the leaves and half fill ice cube trays and top with water you can pop out as many as you need .
If you have little freezer space you can store in vinegar and there are other methods too . Google is your friend for these things .

Sending a hug for showing empathy and maturity re Mr PS . It sounds as though he needs the lottie as much as you do . None of us know why people act as he does but it's always worth being the better person while sticking firmly to your own principles .
You have support there now and it's not just you having a problem with him .

Carry on gardening it's the best therapy . Lemon verbena is lovely and useful in many ways including tea .

Now I really must finish getting ready !

ETA I forgot to welcome Judi to the thread! Lovely to have you here Judi. I don't post on the Daily thread these days but often read it to see how everyone is. I hope Soldier is making a good recovery

Thank you and Soldier is doing brilliantly thank you. Back at school and was out of hospital and eating within hours of his surgery.... he spoke in whispers for a couple of days though. Quietest he'd ever been my daughter said. :D

Re my mirrored bathroom comment :
Ain't nobody needs to see THAT

I totally agree.:) Mother had this 'thing' about brightly coloured sponges too. Every time she went shopping she bought a brightly coloured sponge and chucked it in the bath. To have a bath we had to fish out about 30 sponges that were for show only.:rotfl:

Did i mention the flowers she cut out of wallpaper and stuck around the painted walls? No i dont think i did. :o

Judi, I think your mothers bathroom is quite literally the opposite of mine :rotfl: It wasn't particularly deliberate, but the mirror in there (and indeed the only mirror presently in the house) is so high we can only view our faces. And my 5ft 2 friend can only see her hair :rotfl:

Pollyanna, I think the cat repellent coleus you're mentioning is coleus amboinicus, otherwise known as mother of herbs. I have one, it's a lovely groundcover and smells great. Not much use here as cat repellent though. As for spiky things, I put bamboo skewers point up throughout my veggie garden and it didn't stop them, nothing did until the motion sensored sonic repeller.

Good luck with the dentist Monna, hope it's just a check.

Well done you Fuddle for taking the higher ground.

I zumba'ed again today... after yesterday and monday. I'm getting biceps and abs
