Fuddle, apparently cats don't enjoy highly scented plants (rosemary, thyme, lavender). I have to say, though they pooped all over my edibles, it was never on the thyme!

All mention of cats makes me think again of getting one. If we did though it'd be an older rescue house cat, there's always a few soppy ones at the RSPCA here. We pondered dogs (and continue to), but we're too... otherwise occupied, to make a dog enough of a priority right now.

Hester, if I win tonights lotto, I'm getting you the worlds ugliest bathroom suite installed for your tenants, possibly with a bath of an inconvenient length, and a hideous yet impermeable deck. And I'd send enough money for you to be able to correct both once you were rid of them :rotfl:

Monna, the weather is no better here. Grey, cold and wet. I was supposed to be walking into town, but I'm more of a wuss than you are and may yet chicken out.

Hester - brand new bathroom suite? A bucket and a chamber pot should do the trick. Unless they want you to knock the house down and rebuild it for them?

Those tenants of yours are seriously outstayimg their welcome.

If I ever complete anything I have tried to do all day, well I did dust behind my Cezanne, he's still waiting for me to decide where to hang him. I may get time to look for a new flat.

If I do not succeed in finishing anything I shall go and throttle those B........ kids upstairs. Their parents must be in their is outside. Yes they have a car none of the rest of us do.

I can't very well finish vacuuming at this time of night, can I? The books are all moved.

Yes you can. If it is alright for them to be trampolining on your ceiling at stupid o clock.......

Hester scaffolding planks make excellent (cheap) decking. Ask me how I know.... :)

The ex-h actually chose a "Soft Peach" bathroom suite in 1982, ahead of the other options of chocolate brown, maroon, pampas & avocado...it always looked like "Grubby Beige" to me!! :rotfl:

I looked at flats and houses I was too tired to finish the vacuuming. Nothing for me but I was pleased to see there were lots of 2 and 3 bedroom houses for families and a lot less flats apart from all the over priced flats that have been advertised every week since mid March. They could have been empty since February for all I know.

I thought about the flat next door and not making noise for them. After all they must hear the noise like everyone else that is close to upstairs.

Apparently cats don't like lemon verbena, so it might make good hedging for the allotment fuddle. Plus you'll have lots of lemon verbena for tea and dried leaves in the house.

    Morning all,

Hester, your tenants sound like a handful. One of my flats a few years ago still had an avocado suite. I didn't really fancy it, but I bought a £2 shower curtain with pink roses and green leaves and pretended it was a garden theme. I guess I should have just demanded a new bathroom :rotfl:

Fuddle the only way I've found to get cats to stop pooing on plants is for them to decide they fancy pooing on someone else's garden. Ironically attracting the cats for another purpose might help--perhaps if you planted catgrass in a corner they would see it as a 'clean' space and you could use their fastidiousness to your advantage.

No new news about dad, they didn't get good enough results so are repeating a test today. Mum thinks that unless something shows up on this they will send him home soon. Fingers crossed!

Hugs to all who need them.x

    Good morning,

And a grey day dawns. Just as the weather pundits promised. The rain hasn't started yet, that's a delight yet to come.

So for me it's breakfast, shower and sensible walking trainers on. I will probably be back to report on my exciting visits to dentist and hairdresser later. I bet you can hardly wait.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY

To walk in nature is to witness a thousand miracles.

(I will try to keep this in mind as I trudge along the coastal path dodging the puddles.)

I grew up with a fetching lemon suite :D

Me too. When my house was modernised in 1972/1973 Mother opted for a lemon bathroom suite..... it was with us till 2003, not long after the house became mine when the toilet broke and we couldnt replace the part because the bathroom furniture was too old.

How i hated that lemon suite and the mirrored tiles over the bath that Mother loved. Yes you could look at how you looked before you left the house but you could also see yourself sitting on the loo.

monnagran The forecast for the next week for the area I'm going to visit my SIL is for it to be in the high 20s but likely to be wet every day. Horrible combination! Hope you get on all right at the dentist.

Still feeling yucky with the vertigo. I hope the tablets work soon.

I washed my linen trousers and shirt yesterday to take with me, so I get to use the lovely new iron later :j Nice not to be dreading having to iron! The shirt is bright coral pink, so I intend to wear that on Sunday as we're going to a Bierfest in a local town and I'm bound to lose my bearings and have to ring SIL to look for me. She's far more likely to find me among the crowd in a bright top. I hope. though probably all she'll have to do is look out for the woman not wearing a dirndl :D!

ETA I forgot to welcome Judi to the thread! Lovely to have you here Judi. I don't post on the Daily thread these days but often read it to see how everyone is. I hope Soldier is making a good recovery :)
